I wrote this song on the day I almost gave up on my career in music. I was tired of trying so hard and not receiving what I felt I deserved in return. As I cried in sadness, alone, I grabbed my guitar, laid in bed and started doing this finger style that begins the song... It was as if the song was created for me to stop crying and keep on going. It just happened, in a matter of minutes I had the chorus and the first verse... It worked. It gave me strength to continue my journey.
Months later I met Duca Leindecker, a great musician and songwriter, who I've always admired since I was a kid. He was so kind to me. One day we were jamming together in the studio and I showed him the unfinished song. I said I wasn't sure about the second verse, that I wanted to write something in Portuguese, my mother tongue, but I failed every time. He said: well, I can write it for you, and you'll sing it. He then wrote the most beautiful combination of words, intertwining perfectly with the theme of the song. I was mesmerized.
And when I was in the studio recording, another great artist shows up, Gustavo Bertoni, whose work I have admired for so long. He listened to the song and said he liked it. I then asked if he could go into the vocal booth and sing some harmonies and choirs in the most emotional part of the song. he did it perfectly, I got goosebumps just remembering it...
So "Don't Cry" is now YOURS. I hope you like what you hear, really. I love what I do for living. It's a blessing to be able to create music to someone's life. I hope you live beautiful, meaningful, unforgettable moments with this song as your soundtrack.

ENTRAR NO MAR E DESPEDIR DO QUE É MAIS PROFUNDO.... Tem algumas frases nessa linda melodia que são gatilhos para mim! Não é fácil se recomeçar aos 46 do segundo tempo - esbarrar com pessoas que falam que você não vai dar certo nas suas novas escolhas mais ainda bem que encontrei pessoas que acreditam nas minhas escolhas e estão me apoiando que eu seja um bom veterinário.....
