I bet schools or nursing homes would love the old card bases to use for activities.

I still have the old "tank" Sizzix Die Cutting & Embossing Machine and love it. I have a lot of Stampin Up punches as well. I agree on the flimsy paper 😂 Donate the paper you are getting rid of to your local schools. Kids will love you. One thing I am soooo glad I purchased before it was no longer available is the Stamperatus! Thank you for your tips, and all your videos you share.

Good morning Anna, You are so right, there are things that you simply don't want to get the best of certain items, I, like a lot of people learned the hard way... Use the cheap card base as a layer to pop things up more instead of dimensionals

You always have so much valuable information to share, I have bought my share of tools for card making and scrapbooking since I began paper crafting in mid 1980s…. Back then my card stock and envelopes came from a print shop and stationery store. The quality was excellent. My stamps and embossing products came from a company in California and some of my pattern paper was handmade, mulberry and watercolor backgrounds. It was very expensive to be a card maker back then. However, people always appreciated receiving a hand made card! Today, we are blessed to have so many options. I am thankful for Stampin’Up,, it made card making easier to do! 😊❤

I would add getting good stamping blocks is worth the extra cost. I have several that are lower quality, and like your paper, I never use them. A good, thick grid-lined stamp block really makes stamping easier especially sentiments.

Funny story! I have a Stampin Up Trimmer and my blade was very aged. I got a new four pack yesterday and replaced the old blade. I used it today and panicked because I thought it didn't do anything. It cut so much better that I thought it didn't do anything, but it cut like a knife through warm butter. So much better!

I bought a few cheaper stamping tools, but i never really loved them. A few years ago i splurged and bought a misti and it’s so much nicer and better working than the cheaper alternatives.

I agree fully on not cutting costs on cardstock and ink pads for sure. When I started out I thought I would save some money but ended up wasting money buying the cheaper stuff. Stamping up has such good quality cardstock and ink pads I would not buy anywhere else

I appreciate these tips even though I am not a new stamper. It is so tempting to "save money" on cheaper supplies - only to have to discard them. Thank you for sharing your personal inspiration and thoughts.

I have Y E T to find a paper T R I M M E R that will actually cut "square". My own fault, no doubt, to E V E N expect such from something made of molded plastic, AND having a spouse who was a PLASTICS ENGINEER for nearly 30 yrs. I d e f i n i t e l y should know better!! So, I've resigned myself to measuring, lining up, and slicing. It works.
