Big Truck Big Travels

Күн бұрын

We've passed by Twin Falls in Idaho on many occasions but we've never stopped. We did and I can't do it!
So much to do...balanced rock? Jump the snake river? Pillars Falls? Hike behind a waterfall? We did these and more...including something that I won't do...ever!
Come join our Facebook Group, Big Truck Big Travels for more details such as Alaska itinerary, annual costs and RV stuff.

RV Camping
We like to "Switch it Up" between resorts and campgrounds and boondocking is always an option.
We draw inspiration from Keep Your Daydream KYD, Less Junk More Journey, Finding Our Someday and Changing Lanes. We normally travel in an HDT similar to KZbin channels Suite Travels, Switch it Up and Watts on Wheels. I also get some ideas from the editing style of Happily Ever Hanks (Happilyeverhanks) #thankshanks and believe it or not, I actually learned something from MRBeast Mr Beast video's as well. We're not exactly taking Life in the Slow Lane but we do stop and smell the roses.
Our journey is the destination. We want to share our experiences of our discovery of What's Next.
I get my music from:
Epidemicsound.com
Tracks:
Outta Here by Jennifer Holm (intro song)
Time on our Side by Ten Towers
The Appalachian Trail by Hunter Quinn
Freedom Rider by Bonnie Grace
Enigma Perpetuum by Eden Grace
Disruptive Storms by Martin Klem
Day of Mine by Biddy Sullivan
A little Bit of Faith by Malena Stark

A convenient way to see (or buy) the items you see in the video's which may help in your adventure.

We use the TSD card for diesel fuel and save a bundle each time we fill up our Big Rig. We also use it to fill up our Onan generator.
The big blue boards (XL version) we use sometimes to get us "un-stuck" is from:
Gotreads.com
Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.
Vehicles:
2016 Volvo VNL780 "Voyager"
2016 Smart fortwo "Pathfinder"
2019 SpaceCraft Custom built semi-trailer 5th wheel "Orion"
2023 Thor Magnitude XG32 Class C "Curiosity"
2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara "Artemis"
Power system:
3250 watts of solar with Panasonic panels
30.1 KWH of Lithium batteries
2- 4K watt Magnum Inverters deliver power as if we are on shore power
2- 4K watt 240v Cotek Inverters deliver additional power for our LG Mini split HVAC and stove
Coachnet is our roadside assistance company we use but hopefully we don't use them too often. LOL
We are not sponsored by Whataburger but I do enjoy them anytime I can get my hands on one. They used to be just out of Texas but they have expanded.

I notice no-one has mentioned the Shoshone - Bannock tribes (or Newe) as they called themselves in reference to the Snake River. This was their ancestral homeland. And you can see why a people would have wanted to settle in such a beautiful and bountiful landscape. Of course they were moved off their land, treaties broken etc etc. Wonderful scenery, a joy to see, but the dark side of American history is also always there. A strange juxtaposition.

So glad you highlighted my home town in this video! Not too many full time RVers come here, at least the ones I follow on KZbin. Todd and Sheila from Switch it Up also came here and explored Evel Knievel’s jump sight. You were actually there when much of the water was diverted at Milner dam for the canal system that waters thousands of acres of the Magic Valley.

Looks like I will be planning a trip to Twin Falls Idaho! What a fabulous video promoting things to see and do in Twin Falls. I never knew I needed to go but now I do. What’s not to love about waterfalls! You make the hikes and kayaking seem effortless, although I know they aren’t for many. Thanks for showing us so much of the country we would not have otherwise seen. I am looking forward to seeing your other Idaho adventures. Then I can work on my itinerary for a future trip to Idaho (minus the RVing). I love watching the two of you and your zest for life. Keep up the good work and positive attitudes. Safe travels.

Another great video of such a beautiful part of Idaho. Definitely one of our destinations to visit. I’m curious about the trailer hitch and bike rack on your smart car. Were they custom made or are they available for purchase through a private company? We tow a 2017 Smart on a Stinger trailer behind our Tiffin MH. I would greatly appreciate any information. Thank you!
@bigtruckbigtravels
@bigtruckbigtravels 2 ай бұрын
Installed by RVH Lifestyles but the hitch can be purchased on eBay and a 2" receiver can then be welded on to the flat tow bar.

I'm a truck driver and own a few trucks, I was considering using one with an RV. My concern is that you can't be the most popular person at the campground. Am I correct? Does Bucees let you go there with a semi?
@bigtruckbigtravels
@bigtruckbigtravels Ай бұрын
Bucees frowns on singled semi-trucks pulling 5th wheels and prohibits trucks with tandems. We don't go to Bucees. Actually, most people in the campground like the setup and are curious. Very few are ugly about it. We've had no issues.

Super interesting video this week. I especially appreciated that you noticed the Chobani factory. Their history is fascinating. Hamdi Ulukaya Started the company in 2005 and totally disrupted the yogurt industry. He started in New York by getting a loan and buying an old yogurt plant. By 2012 he built the business big enough that they needed to expand onto the West Coast so they had built an opened the Twin Falls plant that you saw. One of the biggest reasons they built there was because of the strong dairy industry in that area. they went to where the cows were the cows didn’t come to them:) Certainly a rags to riches story and Hamdi is a tremendous individual, not just a good businessman. Thanx and keep up the good work.
