Yes, whippersnapper, it's much deeper than you know. Brilliant lyrics for these young, intelligent ladies.

This song is about the consequences of following some figure or group blindly, even down to your own determent. If you remember the Jonestown Massacre, where 900 people committed collective suicide by drinking Kool Aid laced with cyanide in the 1979s. That what this song makes reference to. So yeah, you were right in thinking that there was something in the Kool Aid.

And it's become a common American political idiom, "They drank the coolaid," meaning their constituents swallowed the other guys line of BS. lol

Yes, the more I’ve learned about it over the years, the sadder and more horrifying it seems.

Song meaning: don't blindly follow - 'i.e. drink the kool-aid' - because you never know what will poison your mind!
@KansaSCaymanS2 ай бұрын
The lyrics are a satirical take on people who “drink the kool aid”, i.e. blindly follow some trend or person, no matter how ridiculous. Fun fact: Ale created the chain dragging sound effect by dragging one of her mother’s necklaces through a porcelain bowl. 😎👍

Queens of Rock. That's deep. Yeah, Nirvana. Grungie, a forgotten song behind badass bangers. Bass driven grunge.

Danny's the sweetest girl in real life but on stage she can transform into something I would like to say evil but I would say hard she has the best stage presence

It's a warning from the warning. Cool aid is how they attract the children and influence their tastes. The fact u didn't know the reference but u understood the meaning (poisoning), shows u never drank the cool-aid

Have a treat for you since you're the shredder. There's a video where Halestorm brought Dany up on stage to play the song "Familiar Taste of Poison" with them live. This is where you'll see Dany shredding! Figured that would get you interested. 🔥 Search KZbin for: ‼Halestorm & Dany (The Warning)‼ LIVE Quebec city, 🇨🇦 Canada 10/26/24 - Familiar Taste of Poison I'd post a link but I've had comments removed when I posted links before. Enjoy! 🤘

Ey amigo. Te has topado con la canción más política de The Warning. Además las hermanas les hablan a su generación Z. Ellas son duras con el mensaje. Very Hard Rock.

Looking through your channel for I don't see reactions to CHOKE or MORE on your channel so those are the last two of the songs from this concert. But once you finish that you should check out REVENANT from Teatro Metropolitan and then maybe go to their concert at Lunario in 2018 where they played through the entire concept album, Queen of the Murder Scene or Dakota Bar earlier in 2018 where they played the entire XXI Century Blood album. "Kool Aid Kids" is basically calling out how people blindly follow the crowd and give in to toxic group behavior. It’s like we’re all stuck in this cycle of hurting ourselves and each other without even thinking about it. The whole “drinking the Kool-Aid” thing comes from a tragic event in the 70s where people followed a cult leader and literally drank poisoned Kool-Aid, so now it’s used to describe blindly going along with something dangerous or harmful without questioning it.

Did you not hear about the mass suicide in Guyana in 1978 where 900 people drank poisoned juice? From that came the phrase "drinking the Kool Aid" that means believing a false ideology. This song is about blindly following social media conspiracy theories and wanting to fight people over your beliefs.

Another banger with deep lyrics is Sharks off their new album Keep Me Fed. Or if you like the punk vibe try P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C. -- it has been described as cheerleader punk 😆

I interpret the line “you are devoid” as meaning the person you were, your own will and individuality, is gone because you’ve bought into propaganda and groupthink, not that you’re no longer physically here with us. But that’s just my interpretation. Given what happened at Jonestown, with people actually dying, you might be right.

When are you going to open your reaction with a solo from a The Warning song? 😎⚡️🤘
@1BarryKnapp2 ай бұрын
You're right, the second verse is about Jonestown specifically, which spurred the song. The rest is deliberately more generic about society and social media Gen Z as a concept

Subscribed because I like musical analysis of The Warning's songs. Your comments are interesting. Also good are some early covers: "THE PRETENDER - FOO FIGHTERS COVER - THE WARNING - OUT OF THE BASEMENT" and "The Warning - Atlas Rise, Live Whisky a Go Go"
