You know my almost 23 year old daughter a while back said to me "Dad I want a man like you". She's actually my stepdaughter and I came into her life when she was 12. That's a damn good feeling.

My daughter asked if my husband could walk her down the aisle at her wedding along with her biological father. She said she wanted BOTH her dads to give her away. I’m not ashamed to say that after I said absolutely, I walked into my bedroom, closed the door and downright bawled. As a mom, you always worry how your choices impact your children. That was confirmation I chose well.

I work three jobs and tried to support my kids in the best way I could. I was one of the lucky ones I had three great men in my life My great uncle my grandpa and my daddy taught me how to survive how to hunt fish even work on cars Yes my stepmother taught me how to be a lady but once I moved out of my daddy house . I had to stand on my own two feet and I made sure that my kids finished school and had at least seven job trades they knew how to be self-sufficient and live off the land I taught them right from wrong respect their elders and always be true to themselves and yes I'm a very proud mother each of my children are in the military and I am very proud of them

Too many women want to be in charge of everything…sadly don’t allow their men to be a real MAN. But, there still are many woman who really do appreciate a real man!! 39 years of marriage, and still counting. I LOVE being a wife to my MAN!! God bless us all. We all have contributions to make to our families. Always appreciate what is done by each and your family members. Men be men, women be women…and support each other! I meant some women feel the need to be the bread winner, the decision maker, that family follows her lead only. rather than the man/father, being the leader of a family/ head of household. some women want to be considered equal them be upset when men don't open car doors or give up their seats on a bus, etc....

I’m learning U.S history this year in high school, and just finished learning about the over mountain men and the backwoods men. They were so incredible and learned anything they could to survive. They all worked together to build villages and work on roads etc. that had an incredible sense of place and community. They were mostly men who were kind and respectful and knew how to work and do the job in a God glorifying way. It’s so refreshing to see that there are still men out there like that. Iv been seeing a lot of feminist men lately.

This is SO awesome! My Grandpaw passed down skills to my dad and what he didn’t teach dad my Papa taught my dad. My dad taught me and my brother. My mama taught me how to mother as did my mother in law. My sister-in-law, only slightly older than me encouraged me in my marriage and my mothering. Now I try to do the same thing. Men need to be men and proud to be men and to teach their sons to love their wife as themselves. Mothers need to teach their daughters to be proud of being a wife and mother. My baby graduated last year so this is my first school year as a retired homeschool mom. We learned so much more than the 3 R’s. Modern education focuses on academics and brainwashing. I started with Relationships 101 the syllabus included godly character, dealing with conflict, serving and loving others. Judging actions and not hearts. People over things, always. Be kind. Speak plainly yet kindly. There are times to fight for what you believe in. There are times you walk away from someone who acts icky, till they have a true change of heart. Forgiving doesn’t mean a full relationship with someone who is acting yucky. You don’t have to put up with crap or be a doormat to be a loving and forgiving person. Mothers need to mother anyone God brings into their path that needs a mama or an aunt. I’m everybody’s aunt. I want my house to be a safe, peaceful place where broken people can find love and solace. My husband and I have been a team for 25 years and I’m proud of the home/life we have built not because it’s all pretty because it ain’t. We don’t have new cars, perfect lawns, the latest decor or granite countertops. Our kitchen appliances don’t even match, but they work! The house is small but none of that matters when it comes to love and service. It just needs to be clean and comfortable and full of love. God made both genders and He made us with different yet complimentary attributes that we should be proud of and use they way God intended. That doesn’t mean that my husband can’t cook or that I don’t bait my own hook. We both have wisdom for our kids (grown ups) and both come to each one of us for wisdom on different things according to which one of us has the most in that area. My husband has been a good godly example to our kids. He has taught my son how to be a man and my daughter what to look for in a husband. As a woman who chose to stay home and educate my children I have actually had women talk down to me or flat out say I’ve ruined feminism. I’m like…good. Yeah we need to vote and be treated as precious human beings but this whole thing has gone too far. I always shook my head at those women and ignored them thinking, let’s just see where you are in ten years. In juvie that’s where! Grandmothers before they should be, bailing kids out of trouble because they “Had to have it all!” That’s a straight up lie. It doesn’t work like that. Of course some women need to work and they do the best they can to survive. We gave up a lot for me to be at home, but it was something we felt led by God to do. There were no Disney vacations, some years there weren’t vacations at all. We’d go camping, or take a week at home and do special things like go to a creek not too far away and swim, picnic. Simple things. That time together mattered more than where we were. Thanks for saying the hard stuff

As a girl, I’m thankful for my father. He may not be the hunting and fishing kind of man, but he is masculine. He is one of my greatest defenders. He’s always been there for me when I’ve needed him. Just a few weeks ago, my car’s battery died and I needed to get it replaced. I called my dad and he came to help me. He even paid for the battery because I’ve been strapped on cash. Girls need good fathers in their lives, just like boys do, but in different ways. Dads are our barometers when we are looking for men to spend the rest of our lives with. Boys need fathers for all the reasons Buddy explained in this video. Even though moms can try, they can’t teach their boys the important lessons that dads do.

Thank you so much Buddy! You're an American Hero! This is so rare in our country today, and what's even sadder is that the evangelical church as a whole is full of namby pamby soy-latte drinkin' men in skinny jeans who don't stand up for anything and worry about everyone's tone and winsomeness. As I was walking through the grocery store today without a mask, I looked around at several men, much older than me, walking around muzzled even though there is no state mandate and groaned inwardly. In FL a 2nd grade girl is standing up to her school board and risking suspension from school for being brave and not wearing a mask. Where are all the men in this fight? Where is their courage? Too many of them are allowing their wives to boss the heck out of them and walking around like neutered puppies on a leash. I'm thankful to live in WY where most of the men are strong men, but there are a lot of cowards here too.

They wouldn’t take me during Vietnam but I’ve done a few things, some alcohol related, that damn near got me killed and I had some that worried about me when I was younger and I ain’t faced nothing like our veterans. I absolutely love your songs, stories and opinions. I've been a single mom 24 yrs. Thank the Lord my son had uncle's, cousins and grandfather's to teach him the ways of the land. He can definitely live off the land if need be. So awesome knowing your child or children can survive out in the woods. My son graduated college with his bachelor's degree in science. But out of the friends he made while in college he was the only one who has guns, compound bows, knives. It's crazy to see the difference in the way children are raised today. He actually took them to a new gun range that opened on the mountain near us. They wanted him to teach them how to shoot. God Bless you and your family!!!🙏💯💞

Love your message. I was blessed with 3 daughters, they can all change a tire and bait a hook, but they also know how to be a lady and how a true man should treat them.

So so true. So so sad. Thanks to all you, what I learned to call, Men's Men! One word "man" hasn't meant much for decades. Most of is were forced to stand in the gap alone. We never wanted to. Thank you Buddy.

I remember shot guns hanging on the rack in the pick ups in the school parking lot, nobody ever thought anything about the stuff that goes on today, messing with their minds causes them to go haywire. You teach them they won't forget what's real , never lifted my children above another, it's being humble and have a grateful heart for the blessing that comes from above, God almighty

Truth Buddy! Thank you. I know too many boys and girls also who live at home and pay no bills. I started work at 15. I’m a girl. In my house. You worked. Both my kids work hard. Boy and a girl. Grown now. Theu actually take me to eat or surprise me with a package. My husband loves little hunters. We live off some good deer meat a lot. Good job!!!

Proud Eagle Scout here. Glad I was in Scouts when they actually taught boys to be men. The struggle and discomfort of being in the woods in all different weather shaped you into a man who can be self-sufficient. I worry about this next generation, but I hold out hope. I hope that men like you and me teach our kids to be the best they can be. God bless.

I remember the student parking lot (which was gravel) had trucks with the ole back glass 2 gun, gun rack. Depending on what season it was determined what gun you had.

Buddy, you bring back memories of my youth. It's a right of passage to teach the men of the future, not only self-preservation but to be STEEPED in the tradition of FAITH IN THE ALMIGHTY. If you can fend for you and your loved ones, God will supply the rest. God bless y'all

I got to North Carolina in 77 as a Marine, came out of Chicago. I've lived here ever since, been around the world, but always came back. I live on sixty acres of wood, I hope my two children will be able to make their own way here, just as I have over the last fifty years. Buddy, you got it exactly right!

Amen brother! We don’t equip our kids well enough it seems today. Hindsight is 20/20 and if we allow the Lord to reveal it to us - His foresight is always better than ours ever will be. Stay strong!

Lost my Dad at 6 yrs old. I relied on the graciousness of my kind and patient neighbors, teachers and community. Sure, I did not get the 'full load' that a Dad would have given me - but if you listen and try, you can get by. I grew up in the Navy and took care of the things that I needed to. I served my country well and with honor and a sense of pride. I was a natural at fixing darn near everything that has moving parts (Mechanical, Not Mammal) and love that. I also was blessed to want to share that stuff with those willing to ask. Paying 'it' back and forward. Thanks from the heart from an old guy now, that only had a Mom and a quest for the truth of what life is about. Took a few years longer than my peers with a Dad, but it can 'almost' be done. Almost, because... Nothing can replace a loving, caring Dad. God bless you, and those with like hearts and minds!

Funny you should mention - I am now 62 and every boy in high school had gun racks and their guns 💪 right behind their heads in their trucks. Where have they gone?
