If students are paying for their own education, their parents don't have any right to see their grades. In fact, colleges can get in deep trouble if it shares that information without permission. Even if parents pay, colleges cannot share grades. That has to be part of the agreement between students and parents if they want to pay.

It has slowly been increasing replacing how to think with what to think. When I went to college I was warned by others which teachers preferred regurgitated content. Those were not the ones that were doers before they were teachers. Some of the doers would teach this what the college wants. Then teach this is the way it really works. With a warning. Do not use this on tests. I graduated in 1980. My nieces recently graduated son has a hard time understanding why he is having such are time pursuing a journalism career. I told him take creative journalist courses. Yep I then told him about the 'embedded' API reporter that was 60' feet away from me. Really great fiction is believable. He still does not believe what I saw and did. But I do get a DoD check every month.
