I had a Yorkie when I worked full time out of my home for 9-10 hours. I was ok because I also had cats and he became their personal trainer.

Woof I actually heard that you can train a yorkie to stay alone for 8 hours with some anxiety medicine and proper training!
@WoofGang4 жыл бұрын
I guess that could help, but i'm not sure if giving medication often would be good for their health.

Mine is left at home with no medicine 😒, they are amazing dogs and love people, including small children. The children need to learn to respect the pet. Socialize, Socialize, Socialize!! They are definitely hard headed to housebreak so extra time and patience is a must! None of mine have ever trained 100% so that's what pee pads are for and it's only changed once a day base upon the small amount that they urinate. The one most important thing is a regular feeding schedule and none of that cheap junk food. They become hypoglycemic very quickly and must feed in regular intervals. Mine has 3 small feeds with a treat here and there in between.

@lebronjames56014 жыл бұрын
Yes, yorkies shouldn’t be left alone for long periods of time. My gf and I are both surgeons and we have a babysitter for her. Our dog is our child so hiring someone to take care of her was a must. Plus whenever we can we check via cameras that she’s doing ok.

I really want a Yorkie but I have 1 problem, I have divorced parents so Friday night I go with my dad in his apartments,then Saturday I’m with him,then Sunday in the morning my mom picks us up.The problem is that my dad’s apartment doesn’t allow pets(you gotta pay lots of money and I don’t want my dad to do that,plus my dad lives with my older cousins and uncles so they won’t want a dog there) What do I do? Should I just not get a dog?
@WoofGang4 жыл бұрын
I think the only way is if your mom can take care of the dog on the weekends! Hope you find the solution to it 😊

People are getting their dogs certified as emotional support animals which allows them to live in buildings that have no pet rules. Look up Rosie the Pit Bull in NY to see one such case. The Fair Housing unit with Hud sued the co-op for trying to make her owner who found the dog helped with her depression get rid of her.

@johnlewandowski86249 ай бұрын
I can think of three times that many reasons! JUST to name a few: TOO DEMANDING, TOO CLINGY, if they're so delicate, what use are they? They SMELL, their incessant yapping barks(SO annoying), they can't guard a household, can't hunt real game, can't be disciplined well, they're manipulative, their whiny yelping cries, they're brats, they're not even that cute, etc.
