I noticed in the first tank you showed they where in with some mollies and platies. I've been doing a little research on these electric blue acaras after seeing them at the pet store today. I currently have a 125g with 50 mollies/platies/variatus, one bristlenose pleco and three mystery snails. Do you think the acaras can go in this tank?

Yes depending upon how big the tank is, but the beta males would not be as bright and vibrant as the alpha. Also you would end up having aggression issues if the tank is not large enough.

They would get a bit too large to be in a community in a 29 gallon, you may be better off with the Electric Blue Ram or maybe a Bolivian Ram, in that size tank with those tank mates.

Nope the EBA only gets about 4 " the grean terror Nd texas cichlid both get about 10 - 12 at least..chances are they will harass the acara, it all depends on how they grow up, i can put my acara's in my 300 with my oscars without fear because i know the temperament of my other fish.. hope that helps.

Although they are similar in appearance no the electric blue acara is not related to rams. The electric blue acara is Andinoacara where as the german blue ram is mikrogeophagus.

I've been doing a lot of research on EBA's since I now have 2 juveniles. Are you sure this is a male female pair? The other pairs I've seen the female has a much shorter dorsal and anal fin. Still pointy but not long. I'm really struggling to sex mine.
