It's a fair amount easier to go up near the Holy Ruins along the river just north of the Rainforest Pyramid. If you start near the scout you started at, just follow the river and there are some stairs that lead to the top of the waterfall and all the way into the wasteland. There's also an early farming spot for Bison and Iron ore near the elite wasteland wolf beast lair if you go this route.

WOuld use panther mount with prequiped shield and 1H weapon. Nothing can catch up and if so you are prepared.

Alternatively if you scale that cliff right next to that first copper mine if I recall, it's a very easy cliff to climb up and would save you a lot of that travel time as well. I am a fan of using easy to scale cliffs as well. Even if you have a mount, just have them follow you cause the game will teleport them once you are on flat land. I base in the snow lands far to the north 450m from the North portal so I use this route daily. Still a great route especially if you just remain on your mount.

Thanks for this! I keep watching your videos to see if I can find your base location. I am looking to relocate to this side of the river for mid-game as I don't have portals yet and am getting so sick of running back from my current base when my character dies. I definitely miss using camp fires to respawn, but can no longer progress with my original character. I am playing solo and find the game challenging even on easy difficulty. Anyway, I was hoping you could do a video about later game base locations, the location you chose and how to fortify it against the local hostiles! I find your videos to be the most helpful. Thank you.

Interesting, I knew there had to be some proper ways up lol. I started building a walkway up lmao but it wasn't far from here so I think I'll stop now. There is another way up too btw if you didn't know. Right near the waterfall/holy ruins so if anyone built near that side it would be faster for them to go that way. I found it interesting I couldn't find many people posting about how to get up that mammoth of a cliff lol

There is an easier way to get to where you ended up. It involves building a stairway that comes out real near the elite panther. Also just past the wolves is where I tamed the rare White Llama. This is a huge llama that is twice as big as a normal llama. And just past the wolves to the left is a coal cave and outside coal to harvest. Guarded by a cranky bear, so build a bear trap with Roadblocks, easy to kill with arrows.(bring lots of arrows).

I just scales cliffs, make sure you have stam food like pumpkin salad to start with and I pick spots on the cliff where you can stop and stand to get stam. Just make sure much of the cliff is climbable I have run into spots where you can't grab the cliff. I literally bypassed a lot of those predators.

Probably somewhere close to a portal or iron. Your going to need a lot of iron later game for sure.

The map should be a bit more guided , hopefully the developers address it. The progression makes not much sense either. You would be in Bronze fighting Saber, Frog, and Ape. Yet everything after the Saber you'd still be in Bronze (Wolves, Plunders, Horned Eagles, etc.) are such a chore in Bronze. Let alone the Ape zone and his fight. You don't "legitimately" get Iron until the Volcano / North (Coal and Iron) which would be approaching Mammoth and Griffon zones, however those are then Steel and Enhanced.
