Always good to hear from a great boxing trainer like Teddy Atlas; however, as has been mentioned elsewhere in the comments section, very little if any breakdown of how the fight will go, just an explanation that Tyson's earned the right to be involved in a bout like this. Thanks for uploading - liked it and subscribed.

Jake Paul is only in this for the money. It should be evident to everyone since his loss to Tommy Fury. It’s disrespectful to the sport and real fighters. If he was about legacy and proving something, he wouldve rematched him immediately instead of the nonsensical bouts he’s had since.

If the Mike Tyson we saw in all of the training video's from last year showed up to this fight then Jake Paul would have taken a MAT NAP inside 30 seconds of the first round. Like so many other people have expressed I too feel like this fight was fixed. It was good to see Iron Mike Tyson gloved up in a boxing ring again, but it was sad to watch him be a shell of his former self. With that being said, In the end I believe that the greatest accomplishment that Mike Tyson ever achieved was his sincere apology to Teddy Atlas for what he did. :-I

I’m not even sure that your comment makes sense. Go look at the open workout footage, and you tell me, is he crowding his mitt guy? Would you train someone like that? Does he look fast? No he doesn’t. And Jake Paul will be in fantastic shape in his prime with a right hand that is respectable. Tyson is old, same near 401k withdrawing without a penalty old. I’m more concerned for Tyson’s health. Feel free to respond after the fight. I could be wrong but I think this is going to be a sad fight.
@Nanfius
@Nanfius 2 ай бұрын
@@heterosapien8426 when saying that you must be very young…i am referring to the fact that you never been old. when you reach, 40, 50…there is a noticeable reduction in almost every single aspect, but despite this, this vary for person to person. If you never did any sport, those 50 will be very bad most likely. however if the persons takes care and puts the effort his body will remember. of course he wont have the same endurance as in his prime, but he still knows how to punch, he knows how to deliver. Any young person in his 30, without training or boxing experience will probably lost to Tyson at this moment. On person of 30 trained, lets say a professional boxer, heavy by nature will destroy mike easily, but it has to be a boxer, a real one. Now, this Jake, he is not a real boxer, but he has learned something…if you ask me, this is fixed, this is business…..however, i see mike will have to use all his experience, I think he can handle Jakes blows, and honestly I will worry about Jake in the first 2 rounds, other than that, they will go to distance…and Jake will win by decision…
@Nanfius
@Nanfius 2 ай бұрын
@@heterosapien8426 When i say you are not old, what I am trying to say is you do not know how it feels to be 40 or 50. Of course as you get older you lose speed, muscle, endurance, balance, strength…but, there is a big difference between someone who has never done any sports and getting into his 50’s….and some one who trained all his life, exploded his best version and knows what he is doing. If you ask me, this is fixed and somehow wrong, because this kid is a spoiled kid. There was a time that boxers and singers has to do the work, and they were talented..and in the case of boxers, they did it because it was their way out of poverty, of abuse, of horrible lifes….with those guys, such as Duran, tyson or almost any boxer of that era, you dont mess around…they trained the hell out of them, their mind set was a whole different story. This guy is spoiled, he is in for the money, for the fame….those other guys Tyson included were there for the hunger, for getting out of hell. Now, you are correct when you said Tyson is not in prime condition, but he knows, he still has power and he has another mind…a wat scarier mind…the other guy is in disneyland’s world….pure ego. Any boxer of 27, a real one, heavy by nature will destroy Mike quickly, but i am talking about real boxer… On the other hand, any person of 25 without training, without boxing skills wouldn’t stand against mike at all, anyone will lose. Now, this guy is legitimate? One thing is training since your are like 12, getting to be a professional…those people are trained in every way to box since they were 12….that is an incredible advantage…you can learn to box at 20 or 22, but is not the same if you ask me. Now this guy Paul, has a shoot, but he will have to survive round 1 and 2…after that he can get into the distance. Despite all what i said, i feel this is fixed, just money, just lots of money and people pushing it forward, lots of ego, this is the new society where everything is posible if i have money…and i can be whatever i want if i can convince you…a time where you don’t have to be talented to be almost anything and be famous….

Not us managing to have a civil conversation on the internet. Yeah I get your points. I’m in my 30s I boxed and fought mma for about 7 years in my late teens through mid 20s. I think there is likely some sort of back door deal too. I mean the rules alone are kind of laughable. I just don’t want to see Tyson get cracked by a 27 yo on steroids, juices to the gills and with a serious ego problem. When even a 45 yo Tyson would have cleaned his clock. This is a weird fight, not even sure what JP has to gain from this. He wins? Ok you beat an old man, he loses his charade is over. But at the same time, Tyson getting concussed at 58 would be bad to see. I hope Tyson surprised JP early with his defensive skills and lands the big one.

Tommy Fury is/was a low level professional boxer, not a semi pro. They had planned to build him into a legit pro before he found fame elsewhere. Paul held his own, but lost. Paul is a low level professional at this point, but to be fair would wipe the floor with most debuting pros or pros with losing records. I'm not a fan, just trying to call a spade a spade.

@@TheBioBoy I assume for name recognition which equates to money and the fact that he can continue hiding how good he is/isn't to his followers. You can look at Tommy Fury's Record and get a feel for where he currently is as a professional and then understand that Paul is somewhere under that.....If he fights regular lower level boxers (which he would not wipe the floor with) then he would need to admit that he is a low level professional. Which for those who don't like him, would be giving him an upgrade........But, to his delusional fan base that actually think he is a great boxer who is going to become a champion, it would blow his entire facade of future greatness.

A longtime friend of Mike Tyson said the boxer told him he slapped Jake Paul Thursday night because Paul stepped on his foot. Video appears to show Paul briefly stepping on the front of Tyson’s right foot and quickly moving his foot back at the weigh-in for their Friday fight at AT&T Stadium. Tyson then slapped Paul across the face with his right hand and pointed toward the ground before the two men were pulled apart. “Jake stepped on Mike’s foot, that prompted the reaction,’’ Tom Patti, one of Tyson’s longtime friends, told USA TODAY Sports by text message. “I was there and Mike just told me.’’

Im sorry , Jake Paul hasnt been drug tested for any of his fights and he got beat by the only boxer he fought... If Mike Tyson treats Jake Paul like he did Roy Jones Jr then it should definitely be ILLEGAL TO ACCEPT BETS IN VEGAS OR ELSEWHERE because its nothing but an exhibition. MIKE TYSON clearly took it easy on Jones by not targeting his head,not following thru on punches etc. The only outcome of this fight if its legitimate is Tyson taking Paul out in round one.There is zero chance Paul can take a shot to the chin from Tyson

Teddy is a smart guy, but I disagree with him on this issue. Mike should not have taken this fight. It is certainly not a good look for the sport of boxing. There will be no real winners in this fight. Ridiculous that the boxing commission approved this contest. It is no idle cliche' that the "love of money" is not the path to take. This nonsense is what we display to our kids.

The only problem i have with what Jake Paul is doing,. is exploiting the sport. Through social media he's able to take advantage of situations ware he can make millions of boxing dollars without having to have climbed the real mountains of boxing. Through social media Jake has self promoted gimmick fights and stunts. Because Society loves cheap thrills and entertainment , Jake makes top-notch money, but doesn't have to put the work in that's deserving of it . Today society has a way of giving credit where credit is not due. I just think it's a disgrace and disrespectful to the great boxing icons of the past. To be successful in boxing you have to fight the real deal fighters, climb the real deal mountains. If Teddy respects him for taking a shortcut that's fine, however it's not fine with many. Why ? Because boxing is a honorable sport, and because it is so it's deserving of nothing less than the best . Jake gets to by pass the mountains all the great boxing icons of the past had to climb because he found a modern day angle. When you see Jake Paul making the same money as Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes (and many of the others) you know something is wrong. The same with the modern day music industry, where we see the industry selling someone's image more than their true raw musical talent. They sell them like any commercial product in demand. It becomes more about image than actual raw talent and what people are made of . Now like with the music industry, these days we see it starting to happen with a sport as pure as boxing. . This teaches the Young generation that they don't have to be real to succeed. They just need to come up with a plan to entertain the world through social media.

Look who he fought? Exactly. He respected boxing. Jake did his homework. He knew he would win because of this respect and homework; mma champions are not boxers, and both age and weight matter. His selctions deliberately utilised those 3 variables, because he knew he would win in a boxing match. Then he dropped the variables and sampled his actual level with Tommy Fury, and lost, so now he's putting his homework back to the test again with age alone being the only variable this time. And his experimenting is good entertainment at the end of the day and brings a lot of young peoples eyes to boxing. And it's brave getting in the ring with Mike Tyson, even with age on your side-he could get seriously hurt this time. And same goes for Mike-age isn't just a number, tell that to a ruptured artery, he could get seriously hurt too. It's an intersting experiment for sure. Curious to see what happens.

Jake fought two actual boxers after Tommy Fury even if low level. He should have stayed doing that instead of fighting Mike Perry and now Tyson.

@@Glasschin2.0 Not really. Those fights gave him no exposure and no money. He doesn't need money and he wants exposure. He's only current for as long as he's famous. The viewing figures for this Tyson fight will be unreal. Why would he just become part of the lower viewed ranks of boxing when he can make these fights?

@ because he keeps saying he wants to be a world champion. Fighting this none boxers and gimmick fights won’t get him to any kind of level. If he’s just about the money that’s fine it is what it is but he’s not fooling anyone. If he wants to develop he needs to be fighting boxers and regular.

Teddy at the start of this.. Jake Paul has 20 million followers on KZbin. Thats amazing.. blah blah I dont know youtube, dont understand it, dont know anything about it. This is the same person who has been building a youtube channel everyday for the last five years. Hard to believe anything he says after that.

Yeah but it was close and that’s an incredibly hard fight for anyone with less than 10 fights.. most boxers have a long amateur career and fight dozens of fighters who are complete garbage. Jake started as a pro it’s impressive.

Tyson could easily destroy Jake. Even at 58. If he couldn't then why are they using 14oz gloves ? If Mike was allowed to go in and destroy. It would be over in less than 45 seconds. Less than 20 in his prime.
