Did you know they make a chartreuse Sharpie. They call it neon yellow. You can find it in the big craft stores.

Met a guy at the ramp one time who's bunk board on his trailer had come loose and was floating up on one end. He couldn't load the boat for fear of sticking the bunk support through his hull. Zip ties to the rescue. Like Matt, I carry some things that can have multiple uses. The guy was able to zip tie the bunk to the support and get on home. One thing I have carried is an old golf umbrella. I've rode out sudden cloud bursts, a hailstorm, but mostly just to duck out of the sun for a few minutes when it's really hot. Sit under it while I retie or eat lunch. It makes a difference sometimes to just cop a few moments of shade.

Craft wire works great for skirts too. I went through all my spinnerbaits and jigs and retied the skirts with wire so when the rubber collar goes to hell it won't come apart.

One other product that I would highly recommend is called mend it.. For anyone that fishes solid toads or big swim Baits it can fix them up in no time no time. The best way to describe it is that it doesn't glue things together and leave a hard spot But somehow seems to melt the plastic together.. Some of these Baits get very expensive and it is an easy way to fix them either on the water or when you get home . Saves you a lot of bucks.

I would like to add bring spare shear pins and a spare prop for your trolling motor. Also a pair of vise grip pliers to pull the old shear pin out. I have been stuck on the water and paddling sucks!!

Good mention of the first aid use of superglue, that's been a trick I've used for years. And I still keep hydrogen peroxide in the boat for my cuts but Shaw Grigsby told me that a can of sugar free mountain dew was actually the most effective thing he's found for stopping a fish that is bleeding bad. So I carry a can or two of that now too, lol. He's been fishing longer than I've been alive, so who am I to argue.

I use the tubing for short strike trailer hooks. I’ll insert the eye into the tubing and then cut the tubing close to the hooks eye. It helps hold the trailer hook in place.

Yep i use it for that too!

Hey Matt,if you get a couple drops of spike it on your carpet will the peroxide take that out as well. I know they make a dilutan for it but I couldn't find any.

i have yet to find anything that takes spike it out completely

I am not a chemist either. Having said that, it seems to me that fish bread microscopic air bubbles that are in the water rather than take the oxygen atoms out of the H2O molecules - which will in mind would make a dangerous left over of Hydrogen in the fish well. It seems to me that cold water is more oxyginated because it can hold more microscopic air bulles than warmer water. All this to say I do not believe that a transfer of oxygen atoms from H2O2 to supposedly H2 molecules in the fish well makes any sense.
@MattStefanFishing3 жыл бұрын
I think you are correct in that fish can’t breath the oxygen molecule in H2O. If i recall from my chemistry classes correctly the covalent bond between the hydrogen and oxygen can’t be broken by the fish, but i believe it’s helpful because the fish are breathing the released oxygen molecule from the H2O2 when it’s placed in water. 🤷🏻♂️
