Thanks for asking CrafsMan! I typically use studs as my ruler, for obvious reasons and I'm pretty sure for this films dolly shot I moved the camera half a stud every frame to match the characters pace. It's always been a dream of mine to make a gear ratio type dolly track construction but I've never been too good with mechanical things and the automatic Dragon Frame compatible ones are crazy expensive as you know :) For more complex moves I like to do it by eye as I feel it gives a more playful animated look. Hope that helps!
