Literally anything else. My close friend makes $70k working at Costco. There are lots of ways to become self-sustaining without learning to code. There are half a million web developers, and 140 million workers *in the US. The vast majority of people make money without going through all of this@@LoftOfTheUniverse

sadly, this was my mindset when i started bootcamp. however, coding was not at all my first choice. i had a few other options that i could have taken, i chose to go into tech after months of research and a few paid coding courses on codecademy. i wanted to make absolutlely sure that coding was a job that i could find, not just that income that everyone raves about, but a meaningful and fulfilling job that i could do and be proud of. im enjoying the challenge at the moment. but lets see how i feel in time when i have to start looking for jobs again.

I would really look into why you’d like to get into tech. I’ve been in tech for 15 years as a QA engineer, recruiter, Software engineer, and management. All of this does not bring happiness but it does bring security. But security doesn’t equate to happiness. Many people who make much less than I do are way more happier that I am. Im doing it mainly for the soft skills although i am mostly self taught, ive taught myself enough to know how to get a job without a bootcamp but since the military pays for it for me then why not lol, itll be good to meet more people with the same ambition and interests
