"Don't leave me! 😿 " - Shelter cat hugged the volunteer and refused to let go!

Sometimes a hug says more than a thousand words. These incredible photos were taken at the Potsdam Humane Society in New York. Rachel volunteered there during her summer break. These pictures were taken on her last day at the shelter.
When she picked up a cat named Tim to say goodbye, Tim hugged her and buried his head in her hair, refusing to let go. It was as if he was saying: "Please don't go. Don't leave me here. Take me with you!"

As I promised, here's the story of how my cat chose me. I was in high school and was walking home from class. A few blocks from home, I heard a faint meow coming from the bushes. I stopped and found a three-colored kitten, a girl. She was extremely friendly and immediately started purring and rubbing against my feet. I planned to come back later to take pictures and look for her owners. But the cat had other ideas. She followed me all the way home and sneaked into the house as soon as I opened the door. Like it was her house already 😸. I had a hard time explaining to my mom why there was a cat in the house. My mom still thinks I made it up. PS. She was about 6 months old and I think she may have run away. She was definitely a stray for a while. My gosh, she was hungry. The first few weeks she would eat ANYTHING. I had never seen a cat eat bread or fruit before in my life. Anything that even looked like food had to be hidden or she would try to steal it. I had to strictly control her portions or she would overeat. She would never leave food in her bowl. If she couldn't eat it all, she would guard her bowl and move around to make room for more. But within a year or so, she went into "spoiled house cat" mode. She started complaining that her food and water weren't fresh or tasty enough. What a transformation.

I volunteer one day a week at the shelter playing with the cats,of course I would like to take them all home, when they get adopted I miss them and wonder what their new homes are like.
