I'm so glad I came across this video. An injector at a medspa that I go to in Los Angeles tried to convince me to put hyper-dilute Radiesse in my face for collagen formation. I'm so glad I stood my ground and refused to put any filler in my face. She was a PA with like 15 years experience in the industry and has worked with plastic surgeons. I'm surprised she would suggest that I do something so dangerous. Thank god my usual injector is my friend from college who I've known for 18 years. No wonder she suggested Sculptra or just microneedling instead. Another injector straight up just said, "If it was my decision, I wouldn't do anything to your face. You look fine. You're the only person who notices these things." We need more injectors like that.

Do not have blind trust in the competency of any Dr or nurse. A lot of people in the medical field in America are not that bright. I recently went to get cheek filler and I asked her to mark on my face and show me exactly what she was going to do. It was not what I needed and it didn’t make sense so I declined at the last minute. Always go with your gut if something does not feel right.

Doctors are funny because I look at the fads…. Botox… then eventual atrophy and fillers for the atrophy…. Then fillers last too long and or change texture too much, so now hyaluronidase to dissolve the fillers… and then new thing, deep plane facelift… Hate to say it but depending on a doctor’s new thing or new fad, and only until they have or offer the new thing, eill they disparage the old and suggest a new. Common knowledge that your paralyze a muscle over and over again, you get atrophy… did any surgeons admit to this until the past several years? Nope! But it’s common sense…. So don’t think you’ve found the greatest new thing everytime. Facelifts can be great, but be warned that blood supply changes as a result and no matter how shallow or deep the work, you eventually get skin thinning as a result. There is also always the potential for nerve damage and asymmetry… And let’s not forget- I’m not anti, but every time you go under anesthesia you suffer brain cell death of some sort and risk actual death. Just the facts. Having said that, make informed decisions and trust no one but yourself if you are a critical viewer of things and a family member who’s a doctor and not in the elective surgery field.

Omg 😳😱 I’m 39 and I got radiesse on my face to “build collagen and lift” I ended up just looking square and loosing the natural contours of my face for the first 6 months 😏. Now I feel my face looks like it always was but I’m king of worried after watching this video 😩😫😩😫. I’m just hoping it will be gone soon and I won’t have any problem with it.

Hi I am 39 as well. I got Radiesse too 6 months ago and I finally choose to do a facelift. because I was not happy anymore with fillers.. During the procedure, my surgeon found a huge inflammation (white bumps) in the area were Radiesse was injected and it caused damages under my skin...... She showed me a picture of how it looks like. So honestly this surgeon is right.

Thank you so much for this information. I lost my normal smile and my filler nurse couldn’t tell me why. I knew it was due to filler or Botox but nurse couldn’t explain it. Now I know it’s because of the filler in my cheeks and NLF. Makes sense.
@sabirasaifuddin4262 жыл бұрын
Dr. you made good points about filler limitations & s.e but you are not talking about s.e of plastic surgery & complications. Honestly, the facial expressions, smile, shape everything changes sometimes for worse with plastic surgery as well. The question is which one someone will choose. Fillers deform the face but can be temporary or can be dissolved but many plastic surgery are far more invasive, very expensive, longer down times & results may be irreversible. I just wish you would also talk about greater risks & unnatural results of plastic surgery.

I had Sculptra injected into my temples that left me with big nodules that look like horns. My doctor flushed them with saline 3 times with no improvement. Recently she treated them again with a cocktail of hyaluronidase and steroid with no improvement. Can you please recommend anything else to dissolve them? I'm desperate and crying daily from this deformity 😭😭😭
@rachelbachel22 жыл бұрын
Do not get Hyaluranidase injected again before reading about the risks. You got lucky that you had no adverse effects the 1st time. Doesn't mean you won't have negative consequences next time. Hyaluranidase is way more dangerous than just leaving the filler in

Yep my lips were perfect. Until the second injection which was not done even! So annoying from the first day and than they try to tell me it’s my lips which are uneven not the injection. So much lies when they do a BAD job. The first time the injections just disappeared so quick and I loved it. Second one one she used a different product which I didn’t know and I’ve never been happy. Few years later had my cheeks etc down absolutely loved it for 5 months than it started disappearing unevenly and I looked so dam weird and I thought it was me.. but a year and a half later I realise it’s not me, as it’s mostly gone. Except for my lips. I refused to get more filler at going for fat transfer with a very experienced injector who will not out fat into the lips or under the eyes.. so it seems like she knows the trouble areas.

Scupltra works great for me. I have very little fat in my face naturally. Very lean athlete. Filled my hollows well enough to look healthy and look very natural. No one guesses i had anything done until i told them. I don't care to hide what i do.

Thanks doctor. If I understand you well any filler or biostimulator based HA, CaHA, PLLA ... increases collagen and inflammation leading to fibrotic tissue especially in the SMAS which is a problem for facelift. So in the case of injection it would be judicious to inject only in areas of low consequence fibrosis during a facelift and which can be red off in a facelift, i.e. near the ears and under the ear at the jawline angle or in areas that the surgeon does not try to stretch during facelift like the chin, on the nose and near the nose, forehead ? You said microneedling plus PRP does not cause fibrosis which is good. is it the same for microneedling+exogene retrieved stem cells or exosome or growth factors or profhilio ? In order to rejuvenate the SMAS without fibrosis would it not be judicious to inject PRP or exogene retrieved stem cells or exosome or growth factors into the SMAS ? Many thanks.

How can I know f I have scar tissue or lumps from HA? 2 months ago I was given Beauty Boost using Redensity 1 from the Teoxane range under my eyes. It left me puffy and 2 weeks later I had red light therapy and the therapist without asking me gave me a lymphatic massage around my orbital area and ever since I have a huge swollen eye with a noticeable lump. I think cause it was new it did something to the filler. Since then I tried to massage the lump away but now I have even more lumps. Did my massage under eye maybe cause scar tissue which is the new lumps or is it likely HA? I dont know what to do and hate how I look now.

What do you think of microneedling with a pen (without heat) for collagen stimulation ? :)
@chelsealaw92112 жыл бұрын
I prefer microneedling with a derma pen at the med spa. It's way better than rf microneedling. Be cautious who you have do this a lot of places don't use the pen, but I feel like the results are way better.
