Its sad that we no longer have that kind of respect for not only our flag, but what it symbolizes- and all those who havefought and died so that we can continue to live beneath it.

A flag is a emblem of country, while the country might not live up to the ideals of the flag people should push to bring the country back to the ideals of the flag and those who died for the flag.

Excellent song. Very touching. My job in the Army was to escort the bodies of the fallen and participate in military funerals. We folded the flag that was draped over the casket ... and never let it touch the ground. Love the song.

When I think of America, I don’t think of slavery, segregation, incarceration, war or any other label people give it. I think of the men who fought and died for the best of this country and the freedoms it offers all for the hope that generations after them would not only take up the flag but mend the flaws they couldn’t. Nowadays, it feels like we’ve failed them with how many people want to tear down the flag and undo everything they fought for. Dwelling on the flaws instead of defending the good works of their ancestors. I pray that God would heal the hearts of America and allow us to come together again.

Personally, I think of both. We can (and should) acknowledge the good and the bad equally. Neither cancels out the other.
@matthiasneidenberger9471
@matthiasneidenberger9471 15 күн бұрын
@@mayalackman7581 I agree, we should be able to acknowledge our faults so we don’t repeat them. But I don’t think we should define our country by them but by the lessons we learned from them and the sacrifices our countrymen have made to right them. But yeah, you’re right too many people who focus on just the positives or the negatives and a health view of both is needed for progress.

Red, white, and blue aka the greatest flag for the American flag is a statement of Freedom and you will be able to do whatever you desire and when soldiers see the flag they are reminded what they fight for a country of Freedom aka America built on liberty, god, and home of the brave

The only time this song mentions the American flag is at the end. This entire song references regimental/brigade/division colors. So to the idiots saying it’s so sad people don’t respect the flag. It’s not even about that. It’s about soldiers not letting their regimental flag touch the ground because that’s army tradition, a tradition that still carries on today.

Honestly? It's not perfect, but I see the potential and I can't express how much I LOVE that! lol And the thing is? It's literally *just* the lyrics. At least for me, lyrical composition is super important as to whether I like the song or not...they gotta fit well together which...being a creative in general I *know* is a pain. Basically, I think the lyrics could benefit from a rework or a few...BUT that being said I LOVE everything else about it and can easily tell you put a lot of care into this piece. I don't care that it's "basic", whatever that really means, I love it either way and want to encourage you as best a stranger on the internet can. So yeah! I hope that all came off as constructive as possible 'cause the last thing I wanna do is discourage you, especially when I genuinely believe you could be as good as even the biggest country artists out there. If you have *half* the passion you seem to in this song with every song you make, I just want you to know that I don't *believe* you can make it...I *know* you can, and I *hope* you keep trying if this is something you really want to do!

@@Oceanedge2010 Of course of course! To be honest I don't think *anyone* who's ever done art before hasn't filled their head with thoughts on how they could improve their past works. But that's literally where masterpieces come from...at least in my opinion. lol

Those lyrics came to you in that order. That was your soul son . Always go with that. I find no fault no matter what maybe said...my Daddy he always taught us don't drop it don't get it dirty and most importantly Don't let it touch the ground. So this song gave me a swell of pride that my Daddy A Vietnam Veteran Rest in Piece this person just wrote you a beautiful tribute to you and what you stood for and taught your family. We all miss you so much but believe this your memories will always be shared.
