Brilliant, gorgeous. What I love about your lessons, Alex, is that they are incredibly rich in useful concepts that can be used anywhere, but also we end up learning great (really, unmatched) arrangements of iconic tunes that can become part of our repertoire. So much better than just leaning 6ths or double stops, say, in isolation - and it's more likely to stick.

Normally when I hear someone play a vocal melody like this on guitar I feel like I'm in the lobby of a hotel in the 70s, but this is done really nicely. The melodies and the way the four musicians fitted together so perfectly in that little 60s beat combo is amazing.
@AlexFarranGuitar6 ай бұрын
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it! Learning to play simple melodies is such a vital part of the journey as a musician. Too many players who never do it, and wonder why their own solos end up sounding like scale practice. 🤪

Thanks so much for this lesson! George's playing on this is perfect and shows so much of the growth he experienced in the late '60s. The open E lick at the end of the verses is magical, and the major pentatonic licks illustrate perfectly his "play for the tune" mindset.

This is why I ❤ Alex's channel, he sure does pick 'em! Songs you always wanted to have a clue about how to conquer... I took on Debussy's Clair De Lune all alone on my classical guitar and mastered it but man it was a long old labour of love figuring out the best fingering approaches to get it just right... the pay off was worth every second spent though andthe voicings I learnt along the way have followed through into general improv! ..as to encourage everyone...YOU CAN DO IT - just keep going and never give up! As always Alex, you are THE man, no bloviating and endless introduction, just straight up demonstration totally relaxed and digestable. fan-bloody-tastic ❤🌟 !

We would love a full Masterclass with several tracks to get better in rythme & solo using soulful double stop / chord tone playing in the style of People get ready but really going in full depth. It would be great to have several tracks from different artists with a lot of increasing complexity exercices that we could work a year on! Just take our money man and bring us all to the next level 😅😅

😎 That's a cool idea, I'll definitely do some in depth courses later this year. Maybe soul/motown double stops will have to be the first one. 🤔

@@AlexFarranGuitar This is a bit specific but I'd be interested in exploring where the dividing line is between blues/RnB playing and more alt styles, like how the concepts overlap?
