Personal opinion would be total solar. I run 2 houses on my system with a well pump, full time living. It's better and independent. Just my opinion

I like your idea in theory. I need 7400 starting watts for my 1/2 horse well pump 💧 How would I overcome that big power draw? Seems possible but really expensive

@DavidWaldrip I have a 1/2hp well pump and it only 120v. I am going to upgrade to a 240v so it's easier and more even load on my inverter. I run a magnasine 48v 4400w inverter and it runs it no problem. The 7400 seems like your talking about the inrush or Locked rotor wattage. That would only be momentary. Whatever inverter you buy make sure it's a transformer based one. They can take the momentary inrush. 1 hp motor is equal to 746w so half should be less than 375w running the inrush on start up can be calculated at 300x that for a second. That's where most inverters will fail. I'm an electrician and I've done several pumps and motor applications. On and off solar.

@gmac9956 speaks knowledge. You saw my set up in Rapid city. Did the Victron Energy Cert program while doing mine, his math is correct. Couple things to add: proper gauge solid copper (not copper clad) - shortest distance of wires possible btwn batteries/inverter/solar controller(s)/busbars power pole for pump, possible near where your trailer will be, extend solar array distance to solar controller if necessary - My 10 x 100w (rv) roof array brings in mid 6kW/day peak summer good day. Low 4kW winter good day. Additionally I’ve 2 x100w ground deployable that harvest 2kW peak summer good day 1.7kW winter if I loosely readjust co uple times in day - if I could readjust my roof array few times array I’d harvest 30% more kW/day summer or winter re: make them adjustable if possible. Post Xmas holidays I’m doing a horse ranch in Fla, offgrid/prolonged power disruption capabilities using 2 adjustable arrays aka solar trees. Sourcing industrial size bearing slider similar to what on the bottom of a cabinet lazy susan 28” wide allows attachment to a 3” x 3ft concrete pad w 3-4’ deep rebar pilings. 3 trees, 6x100w panels, lt weight aluminum pole structure attached to 2’ base sitting on bearing. weighs just over 100lbs. Marked slots for easy y-axis (swivel) adjustment w x axis adjustment (tilt). Always 4-6 ranchers, adjust few times/day they’ll be pulling down 10kwh

@@gmac9956Your information really helped with my decision to move to a solar powered well pump. Thank you for he comment ☀️
