I just sampled 25+ different versions of this song on iTunes and wanted so badly for a recorded Sierra Farrell version to be on the list. Love how she plays the tune at a less frenetic tempo, the musicianship is so pure, her unique sound, and her slow down at the end w the soulful voicings is stunning. Singing it as a woman also gives the lyrics a different spin and resonance. Y’all oughtta put this out as an audio single, also. Please.

Sierra Ferrell is an immensely talented and creative artist. Not only does her version of "Deal" need to be on record, but her performance of "29" with her Charleston WV bandmates, 600 Lbs of Sin, seriously needs to be available for download or on a CD. It is one of the most powerful and meaningful songs about the coal world of Appalachia that I have ever heard. Sierra, you are totally AMAZING!!

Re: "... her performance of "29" with her Charleston WV bandmates, 600 Lbs of Sin," > Word: The song you refer to was the first perforance of her singing I ever came across on KZbin, blew me away (the guitar playing as well), and have been a fan ever since. Recently bought her outstanding album, "Long Time Coming." Highly recommended. The people she is working with now indicate she is clearly a known talent now.

An astonishingly beautiful, profoundly watchable, performance from start to finish. Your singing tell's the song's story like nobody I ever heard. Your super voice, phrasing, ornamentation, and your likeable presence creates a real sense of true drama. Also, I really appreciate your guitar style, which has great picking accuracy and rhythm. The bass player could connect to your every chord change. That fluent fiddle solo lifts the whole work up in a different way. And the end of the song is as haunting as its poignant opening.

Literally almost without words to decribe how good this is. That very first note when the base comes in and it hits you. The base is so insync with the guitar its hard to be able separate the two sounds, and I am not normally a fan of the violin as an instrument, but this has converted me, honestly without words to describe the violin playing beautiful and of course Sierra's voice, it's with singers like this that you can see how the human voice can be greater than any musical instrument. Honestly the whole song just rises above being music
@portiermartin Жыл бұрын
The basis or...base...of a given musical performance is the BASS either the Standup or Doghouse acoustic BASS or the BASS guitar lol Sorry...I'm an asshole n I love it! But I couldn't agree more w your assessment. There is such a primal element to that vocal. Intuitively we just vibe on that. Put...Nansi Imali...in your search bar btw for more strong vocal performances.. Viva!

I notice it in all of Sierra's live recordings: she is much more authentic, lively and cheeky live than on her studio recordings. Is it because of the so-called producers, who have already bent many great artists in the wrong direction in a supposedly "commercial" way? Sierra please, please stay as you are live. By the way, a big compliment to the two musicians (violin and bass)!
