@@OutsidebySide hi sir/madame - it would be a great video topic for you to show the ford truck inside trailer controls and how those work when towing a trailer. I have those on my truck but no idea what they do.

@Chris We mentioned changing it every 3 years but definitely recommend checking it every year! We think it would be better to change it before it completely corrodes! Thanks for always supporting our videos & channel Chris! You are the best! 🤩

I wrote you a question on your other video "set up and breakdown for newbies" about the water heater. Turns out the tank was not filling. When I opened the hot water heater grid, the anode rod was just laying in the bottom. My new understanding is that the trailer had been winterized at the dealer and no one told me I had to do certain things like open the panel inside and turn the bypass lever so the tank would fill. And of course I can run it on electric but I could get the anode rod in tight so now I'm going out to buy a 1 1/16 inch socket. What would I do without you guys. I made 9 calls before I just looked this up on KZbin. It's like you knew what my problem was and helped me fix it. Thank God for Outside by Side. Now why did my bathtub fill with about 2 inches of pink water and won't go down? Ugh! And I thought I was going to get to photograph fall leaves in the Adirondacks in this first RV trip for me ever!!!

@Sile Konnaris We are so glad to hear you have figured out the issue! We want to make sure you did see our comment on your question from setup & breakdown. So happy you found this video as well! The pink in your bathtub is anti-freeze that is added to the water to winterize your travel trailer. Normally the water heater bypass valve is turned on because you are not supposed to have antifreeze in the water heater. Just pump or flush out all the water lines with fresh water, turn the water heater bypass valve off, install the anode Rod, fill the water heater and test. We have not winterized our Trailer yet because we live in Texas, we still often use it in the winter. Thanks again for supporting our channel & please share with anyone who owns a travel trailer! 🤩

Hello! I completely forgot to empty my water heater tank this year and just checked this week. I would say 80% of my rod was GONE and little chunks of the rod came spilling out. There was still about 10% of the metal on the rod. Do you think my water heater is still okay?
@OutsidebySide
@OutsidebySide 6 ай бұрын
@theroamingpix It should be okay! We recommend to flush it out and install a new anode. Thanks for watching & happy camping! 😀
