Just last month on Iron Rattler for me. The guy in the front row had it out the whole ride. I was in row 4, yelling at him the whole time.

I see this sometimes usually on twisted colossus, it does make me nervous the whole time. But to be honest everything ive ever seen fly out has come from an unsecure pocket and not from someones hand

I visited Six Flags New England the other day and they had zippered pouches at each seat in the ride that you could put your phone, etc in and it never leaves your sight. Wicked Cyclone, for example... I wish more parks/rides would do this.

As a kid I got hit by a phone on Fahrenheit. My father was in the row behind me and caught the phone. He showed the phone to the guy who lost it and threw it over the ride fence. Thankfully I was fine after a visit to the first aid.

I once forgot to take my wallet out of my pocket before getting on Fury 325. Reported it and thanks be to God staff found it while searching for stuff around Fury 325. Now, I usually put my stuff in a bag I carry around the park

Iron gwazi has small zipper pouches on the train which is really cool and I think more rides should have these, it would make things a lot easier but for rides that don’t have those, I would agree that zipper pockets are definitely the way to go

Shorts with zipper pockets all the way! I have about 9 pairs now. In cooler weather, pants with zipper pockets are hard to find, so I get jackets with zipper pockets.

I've seen a surprising amount of loose articles lost on rides. In one day at CGA, I saw someone lose their phone on Grizzly, someone lose their hat on Psycho Mouse, someone lose their phone on Delirium, and someone lost their water bottle and phone of the rapids.

Unfortunately, the guy who recently got killed after losing his keys on Banshee and then jumping fences to try and recover them didn’t listen to this advice. Bottom line, don’t bring things onto a rollercoaster and expect them to make the trip safely. Use the bins or lockers. Better to do that than lose your health or life.

I visited Cedar Point on August 1st, 2021. And at one point during my visit, I made the stupid mistake of bringing my phone with me onto Rougarou. It was in my pocket, with no zippers or anything else holding it in place. And at one point during the ride, my phone flew out of my pocket, and it was nowhere to be seen. I had to get a new phone after that. And that's why I always wear zippered pockets to theme parks.

I usually wear a fanny pack; but I will often take advantage of the pouches some rides have to put my water bottle (which does hang loose on my fanny pack) in or I would put my stuff in the free lockers if my sister brings a back pack that is too big to fit in the pouches.

Frankly they're ideal for most any kind of travel, provided you aren't a weirdo who is obsessed with locals not thinking you're a tourist. But on coasters they're perfect. There is no form of roughness or intensity that will cause a zipper to spontaneously unzip itself.

In the US, many parks now have movable locker systems where you can pay an all-day fee and move your stuff around from one place to another, and I greatly approve. Worst time was at PortAventura where the lockers only take euro coins and I didn't have any! Many coasters did have platform bins, but Stampida did not--watch out for that one, because that ride does have ejector air. I ended up stuffing everything in my jacket zipper pockets which was uncomfortable, but I didn't lose anything.

Hersheypark has lockers by Skyrush that allow you 2 free hours before you have to pay. Since there are 3 coasters right there, it works out pretty well. And Wildcat's Revenge has free lockers right there at the ride.

On Fahrenheit's lift hill, the phone fell out of the open pocket of the guy in front of me. It fell at me feet, and I held onto it for the ride. The guy had no clue until I showed him my new phone after getting off.

I do appreciate the parks that have free lockers when mandatory. Skyrush, Candymonium, and Wildcat's Revenge have these. El Toro recently got double-sided lockers. Everything is too expensive to risk taking on rides for me.

Zipper is probably 2nd best to buttons on pants. Not the snap together buttons but the one you put through the button slot on the pants. Never had zipper fail me but always feel like the forces gonna rip the zipper open😂

Zipper pockets are elite, I’ve gotten hit by a phone on outlaw run before, however I know of girls who bring fanny packs to cedar point which works great until you have to pay for a locker in steel vengeance even tho the fanny pack can easily fit in the 2 way locker

Tuck the fanny pack into your pants or drape your shirt over it. It's ridiculous that they would require you to purchase a locker for an empty fanny pack that is locked to your body.

Zipper pockets are maybe better than other closing pockets, but they're so much more expensive - to get 7 button close pocket cargo shorts vs 7 zipper close cargo shorts, even if they're the cheapest relatively okay ones you can find, is about $100 different.

I like that parks are becoming more aware of loose article policies, but absolutely despise the way some parks have gone about it. Recently I was told I had to empty my pockets on pantheon, (I have zipper pockets), and I saw many phones and wallets in the cubbies. I very easily could’ve grabbed them and no one would have had a clue. Luckily we didn’t have any thieves on my ride, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth.

Someone lost their phone on Maverick last year (pure accident) and it landed close to hitting me and a few riders. Thankfully I retrieved it mid ride, held onto it the entire time and gave it back to the individuals who lost it. (What’s cool was they ended up subscribing along the way) Morale of the story, get some zipper pockets or Fanny packs. They come in handy

At Busch gardens tampa cobra broke down and waited 3 hrs to ride it. Had to get security to open the locker because of 2hr limit. I payed 13 for all day , but 2 hr limit at each ride, wish they could extend limit for when rides break down

The Skyrush double phone ejection is crazy, these people deserve more punishment than just their devices being lost/broken, they could damage the ride and/or another rider/passer by. It's becuase of this lack of care that so many rides have such harsh restrictions now.

Safari vest with zipper pockets. If you have to ditch (El Toro etc), its all in one place. I've seen people get rejected with fanny packs, no one says you cant wear a vest.

A lot of women's pants don't even _have_ pockets, is what Chris was getting at here. There are exceptions to the rule, but the general rule is that men's pants have pockets and women's pants don't. Which is unfortunate really, since women do seem to prefer pockets if they're an option; the problem is that they _aren't_ an option way too often.

I rode twisted colossus and there was people in the very front row, and nobody else until me in the very back, it was raining and nobody was in the park and I lapped it a bunch so I was just relaxing and having a good time, but during the green side zero G stall a keychain fell from the people in the front and I felt like it was slow motion as it slowly came towards me and I caught it while upside down. I returned it to them and they were very grateful, one of my favorite moments on a roller coaster!
