It's all about what you use it for and your experience of how your setup worked. Other than the TQ on the left cummerbund being kinda hidden, it’s well layed out and PRACTICAL. I run a TQ on the shoulder and am surprised more people don’t. My vest for work has a spot for a IFAK, baton/TQ, dual 33 glock sticks, and a radio pouch. Dual double cuffs on the back and I’m set.

As an Explorer Scout (somewhat outside Boy Scouts) I was constantly asked to judge and help administrate Camporees. The rule at the Camporees (Florida & Ohio) was you had to pack everything in 5 miles that you wanted for 1 to 2 weeks. I bought a nice framed backpack and packed in a personal tent, cot, sheets and pillows along with everything else I wanted/ needed. There was grumbling about the "luxuries" but I could carry it and did (with the proper gear). So if you can handle the load who's to complain? You might be the one who needs the spare tourniquet.

Issue with your rig: 1: Too many magaclips; if you can't win a fight with one round, get gooder. 2: Tourniquets; Just dump those and activate god mode. Duh 3: Thermals; Way too big, and besides god mode is active remember!? 4: Smokes; Dump those two big ones. You can get a pack of camels and have 20 top tear Camel smokes for all your COVER needs! 5: Radio; not needed with smoke signals. Remember we have 20 Filtered Camels. So a personal story about AR500. I live in Virginia. Late last year we had an absolute cluster fuck of an election, and the incoming State commies vowed to ban freedom itself. Back in January, I was 5 weeks into my order for some plates from AR500. I already had the carrier from another company and everything else I needed to make it legitimate "kit". So when I called them in a panic i got some young dude on the phone who said "yeah man we're way behind right now. It's gonna be another six weeks at least." I said "I understand but I'm getting nervous" He asks, "are you deploying soon?" I say no, but I live in Virginia." He cuts me off and says - "say no more, I got you bro." 5 days later I had my plates. I fucking love this company. I can buy whatever I want now, but I will always give them business when it suits my needs.

This rig is actually pretty light. I put my rig together as an assist-LEO rig. FAK plus extra AR mags and Glock mags (which my county uses). I don't see any fat. If you plan on needing to hump 10 miles, THAT'S NOT THE SAME RIG.
