As an a side did anyone Imogen was going to Merc the old lady in the city. Can't get it out of my head as they literally have a self aware "ring girl" and a horse gal who got mind powers and I trust the one that should be a final boss in a Resident Evil game

It's so great to see Marisha finding her own as a roleplayer. Everyone always made the excuse that she was playing a low CHA character for Keylith, but the truth was she was just inexperienced and self conscious. (everyone laughing at the romance RP just fueled her embarrassment) She played Beau and it was a perfect fit of a character for her. and now with Laudna she's knocking it out of the park. It just makes me happy to see how much she's improved.

@@codyvandal2860 as a dm whos ran games pretty consistently for 3 years, don't be afraid to laugh. You're playing a game and it will get silly. (crazy voices are part of the fun!) But know you're also setting the tone for the game, so be confident in yourself and just roll with it!
@JB-xl2jc

Especially for home games, I found some of my best memories were when things got silly and didn't go as intended. Everyone's there to have fun (and if they're not, then that's pretty weird and maybe have a talk with them), they probably appreciate very deeply that you're DM'ing at all, and they'll be happy to take everything in stride. Don't sweat it!

@magonus195
@magonus195 2 жыл бұрын
@@telesphoros they often make it a self-aggrandizing farce focused on shenanigans, wackiness, perversion, and trolling with the world. They pay less attention to both lore and game rules than the average RPG player. And they are frequently highly sensitive about their own character, in terms of critiques from other players, or dangers put before them by the DM/GM. They certainly *aren't* all bad, and I've played with "drama kids" who were much more fun, and much less smelly, than grognards. But the hobby is much more of a goof than it used to be, and it is hard to keep a campaign going for players who just want to act out.

if ya’ll wanna play a strict, tight and serious lord of the ring’s type game than do that with your own group. Don’t gatekeep dnd just because you don’t like playing that way lol. Some people just don’t take imaginative dice rolling very seriously and that is fair enough

@@maximumeffort6137 No one is gatekeeping, squeamish critter. I've never played "tight serious LOTR" D&D. Few players I've met could. I have, however, met a lot of post-CR players who think shenanigans and roleplaying are the same thing, who derail the narrative by trying to get laughs and attention by being wacky and emotional.

Then you are weak minded and deeply insecure. A _normal_ person would watch this and see a group of friends joking their way through a perfectly innocent but slightly awkward moment; when you have eight people together, all talking over each other, it happens sometimes. A _normal_ person would wish they had such friends with whom they could relax and laugh about something like that. But not you…

@@rectoplasm8612 Thank you for proving my point. My criticism was sharp, but ultimately constructive; if you read it to the end, you'd see that I tried to point you in the right direction. Relax, make friends, have fun, and don't worry so much about what other people think. But you just can't do that. You're so deeply insecure that you take _any_ criticism as a personal insult and then respond in what you think is the same way. And you're so weak minded that you think "neckbeard" is an effective insult toward someone who just told you to relax and have fun. Come on, your spelling and grammar appear to be good, so you're not a dumb animal. Try thinking beyond your instinctive reaction to each stimulus.
