REAL EXPLANATION: So Point Pine is around Canadas Northeast territory’s and abandoned in 1988. The town did have parades every once a month. But point pines was a mine for Lead and zinc ores. The kids from the school did get picked but they didn’t get eaten. The people could watch and could see it in person. This person telling the story is copyrighting a creepypasta. The real creater was Charlie Watleys in 2019 entry in the Chilling tails for Dark nights. Hope that helps and if I get anymore info I will edit it! Edit: The boy DOSENT lose his eyes I totally forgot about that sorry!

I did some research on Wikipedia and it said that the small town that was built to serve the work force at the Point Pine Mine, an open-pit mine that produced lead and zinc ores. The town’s population peaked its highest at one 1,915 people in 1976, but it was abandoned in 1988 after the mine closed in 1987. But what I worry is that the parade was real and that a student was actually chosen to be in the parade.
