Roeg was a visionary, filmmaking genius. So much goes on in this masterpiece, so much symbolism & recurring themes to foreshadow what's to come, such layered storyline. One of my favourite movies.

The DP for this film, Anthony Richmond, also photographed The Beatles' "Get Back" (aka. "Let It Be"), recently released in Peter Jackson's 8 1/2 hours' edit on Disney+. And Roeg's another masterpiece, "The Man Who Fell to Earth" with David Bowie. Speaking of random odd connections: the producer of "A Clockwork Orange", Si Litvinoff, had originally approached Roeg to film it. Roeg refused as he was already set to begin filming "Walkabout" in Australia (yet another masterpiece!). Only then Litvinoff, who owned the rights to Burgess' book, approached Kubrick to do this. In the end it all worked out just fine but I've been wondering what would "A Clockwork Orange" look like if it was directed by Roeg?

Do you know about John Cassavetes Love Streams? Apparently Cassavetes pleaded with Roeg to be the cinematographer on it but Roeg only interested in directing at that point.

Red is quite prominent in "The Sixth Sense" and in 2019 "Pet Sematary."
