Dude 10/9/9 is exceptional student category when it comes to CAT since you basically get maximum marks for 10th/12th/grad categories in your profile score. Btw not at all trying to discredit your persistence and hardwork in your prep.

When profiles you see on LinkedIn, studying at IIM A, are toppers in the 12th boards, and from fancy colleges like LSR and SRCC, there is bound to be some degree of “am I ever going to make it” I guess the point of this video is that, I’m not one of those. I barely scraped my way to 90%. Yes there were a lot of divine blessings in this process but just wanted to share my story with the hope that someone feels motivated. The selection criteria for IIMs is totally screwed... believe me if you are a GEM (fresher) and you have bad past academics you won't be making to into any good B-schools if you didn't got 99.9X percentile (Top IIM impossible) but then you see someone with 92-98 percentile making into it IIM A, (there is approximately 40-50 marks difference between 98 and 99.9 percentile), if past academics matters so much why do they bother even taking a standardised exam, just allot colleges on the basis of past.

Btw, I'm feeling quite anxious about my graduation and 12th marks. My academics have been, 96%, 86.67% PCM, 69.67% Economics(H), and MA(H)Economics (will be completing it this year). I have no work ex. Co-curriculars are okay, with debating, music and sports being there. Is there something there that can seriously hamper my chances of getting into IIM ABC? Do I have a chance? Also, can I still add things to my profile, like doing internships, or courses(I have done them in the past, but haven't completed those because profile building wasn't of my concern at the time)?

I’d say 97.5+ but I’m not expert. It varies from year to year. But 98+ would be safe for sure

They don’t give free marks, but yes, we do get an advantage over GEMS, in terms that we get calls at slightly lower percentiles
