I agree with what all of you are saying, but you are betting the us and Canadian economies break down, and not break up. Breaking down will depress housing prices and force sales, due to debt to asset ratios and job loss; as people move to cash to service debt, and buy discounted assets to find a price floor. Breaking up would be, prices go up, because the government of Canada is the under writer for most of these loans, and it is fundamentally the only hard asset backing the Canadian dollar and tax base, as Canada does not have any gold reserves, and all of our corporations are foreign or majority foreign owned through black market money systems. Take the TD and HSBC scandal, or the Vancouver laundering system on residential housing.
