I have owned all the Air series drones and thought they could not better the Air 2s and was blown away with the 1 inch sensor and had feelings about the smaller sensor like many people. I sold my Air 2s when I bought the Mavic 3 Classic and ordered the Air 3 straight after the DJI launch. Apart from the lower resolution from 5k to 4k the quality is fantastic , because of rules in the uk the signal strength has been reduced but Ive never lost signal but the signal bars went from white to orange and brought the drone back as it was my first flight. It is a great drone to combine forces withe Mavic 3 Classic. good review Bro.

Wow, when you showed the low light shots of the Air 3 vs. Air 2S! You could really tell hope much more light the Air 3 sensor is gathering and so much cleaner! I was skeptical about the 48Mb photo mode on the Air 3, but you again showed a fantastic example on how the Air 3 is better! The 40 minute flight time would be wonderful when taking hyperlapses ❤ Thank you so much for going so in depth on the Air 3! I will definitely get the Air 3 as a upgrade from my Air 2S. But I would love to save $$$$ and get the Mavic 3 Pro!

Had the Air 3 been of the same form factor as the Air 2 and 2s, I would have jumped on it. Wathing Harmen Hoek videos, i am inspired by the portability. And, about to be sailing in Croatia, I am not as worried about crashing the Air 2s into water as I woud be the Air 3.

Great review! Definitely, the air 3 is an upgrade over the air 2S, in pretty much every way. That being said, camera is king and, while the air 3 is better, I don’t think that difference is that significant for me. I shoot almost everything in 5.4K so I can reframe if I need in post. For me, I would probably rather go Mavic 3Pro, for that for that 4/3 sensor, and all the other bells and whistles that the air 3 got from it. Great comparison and appreciate the time you put into your videos!

Those intro’s and little bits here and there are just getting better and better - looks like you’re having loads of fun making those :) Audio might feel really tricky to understand at first, until you realize it’s basically the same as video: get a strong signal/good lighting, manipulate it to put focus on certain aspects of the audio/video, just different tools doing the same :)

I think you are spot on with your assessment. I didn't get the Air 2s, I had the Air 2 though. The only thing I've noticed, the Air 3 is way more sensitive on the stick input. Way easy to overshoot the shot. But it is a beast, that is for sure!! Excellent comparison!!

Quite fair comparison, but you are not mentioning with low light (but still day), 48Mp mode in Air3 is adding significant noise to the pictures and creating artifacts and wrong colors. IMHO Air2s for photos is still preferable overall apart from night shooting.

Air 3 in good light with 48 mp are better than air 2s. Air 3 low light and night mode in 12 mp is better than Air 2s. The only way the Air 2s would be better is if you choose 12mp during strong light vs the Air 2s in strong light.

The decision for me was actually quite easy. I had (emphasis on had) an Air 2S for about a year until I lost mine on vacation last year. I made a catastrophic mistake totally my fault and crashed into a Georgia pine on the side of a mountain. I couldn’t even get to the spot where it crashed. To this day I am not sure if it fell or it’s still stuck in that pine tree. So since I just got my tax return I decided to get an Air 3 instead of just replacing my Air 2S. I liked the idea of better transmission for longer distances, the 3X optical camera, more battery life, and especially 360 obstacle avoidance. The Air 2S was a great drone and is now a much cheaper option if price is your main concern. But for me I’m happy with my decision to upgrade to an Air 3.

Honestly, when it comes to camera theres nothing about the air 3 that takes it besides the low light imaging. The aircraft is better and longer lasting and all that so that's a big advantage but when you can pick up an air 2s for $500-$800 if money is an issue id definitely go for the 2s

I own 5 DJI drones. I love my AIR 2s, that being said, I just ordered the AIR 3 fly more combo with regular controller, since I own a Mini 4 Pro with RC 2 Controller, & can use the RC 2, on both my Mini 4 Pro & AIR 3. DJI did an update, & you can now use the RC Controller, with the AIR 2s. I also bought the Integra goggles and Motion 2 Combo for FPV flying, with my Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, & AIR 3 . DJI hands down, makes the best consumer drones. I wish Autel wasn't getting out of the consumer drone market, because they were catching up to DJI.

Since the Air 2S is compatible with the RC Pro controller, I'm not upgrading any time soon. Plus its smaller, and it shoots 5.4K video, which is what I do with a drone , shoot video. Plus the RC Pro has a 1000 nit screen. I rather have the 1000 nit screen than, two cameras.

I totally disagree. The first Air3 I sent back as there was heaps of noise in the raw images. And chromatic aberration is off the scale. Worst with 48meg images. Before the replacement drone came I had a call from DJI. They informed me that they were having problems with images in raw. Now if your not knowing what raw is Google it. DJI did say they are working on it and hope to have it fixed. There are lots of other Photographers like myself who are peed off with the results they are getting. I ended up purchasing Topaz denoise just to get rid of the noise. Let me remind you that this happens with still images. I noticed your test was conducted in jpeg. Jpeg, the drone will apply its own noise reduction, but the dynamic range is a lot less. So I hope you do a test with raw images and see for yourself the difference. Otherwise, it's a great video.

Dji should have produced the 2S with same type of camera it has, but with electronic variable aperture. Also with a battery durability of 45 min. And ocusync 4. It is basically the only middle size drone, and that is attractive.

Great detailed review and comparison of the DJI Air 2S and the newest DJI Air 3, mate! I really needed to hear that the tracking features and mastershots are still working even on 4K/60. Thanks for including that! You just forgot to include the battery pack feature where if you already used the three of them, the batteries can intelligently transfer their battery power to the one that has the most power left in it and be usable again for another flight. The Air 2S is 2.5 year old technology. Of course the Air 3 is better in EVERY way. It's the Cadillac of drones I think. For it's money
