I would like to point out that Grog had his "rage" moment when he turned Thordak's eggs into an omelet and that learning the "Seeing spell" is an excellent fit for Keyleth's Earth Trial.

I love that they lean into the isms of each cast member to make the characters feel very unique. It's so cool. Like how Grog came up with the plan just like how Travis at the table would get sick of the planning paralysis and come up with the best plan at times.

I liked your comments about the twins. Knowing the campaign, I was taken aback by the team splitting up at this point, but my favorite part was watching the twins twin it up. Stilben was the name of the town the whole campaign started in (as least, going by the comic books it was). So, this felt to me as though. the twins were regressing back to their previous ways. Also, it's interesting that in the show, they almost have to split the party to allow room for the smaller, quieter character moments. Great as the fights are, it's those moments that really draw me in. Finally, saw your cosplay on Reddit. Loved it!

I love how effortlessly they can deviate from the campaign without it feeling wrong. Because in the end the important beats remain, even if they show up in a different context. And the changes are all good stories in themselves.
@bludfyre2 ай бұрын
You obviously aren't on Reddit lol. The nerd rage there is palpable... especially the ending of episode 12 and the moment from the campaign that could have gone there but didn't. I agree with you. I think it could have been basically a beat-for-beat recreation if they had gotten the episodes up to an hour (and added 4 episodes to each season) with a few minor changes to make viewing easier (specifically, the Sphinx's challenge from season 2 was much easier to understand and animate than the " guess my name" one)

@@bludfyre No surprise they love Bard's Lament, when in reality it was a lame drama-for-drama's sake moment so Sam could try a different character for a hot second.

@@bludfyreBard's Lament was an iconic moment in the campaign, but with the way the show has unfolded, it just wouldn't make sense a this point. Who knows, maybe they'll still incorporate it in the future, in a different context.

No big Grog moments? He had the plan to beat Thordak, even if he blacked out for it. It was such a great way to show how Travis is such a great leader, even if his character is... um... not. 🙂 The sad thing for me is that his request to fix Scanlan was so toned down from the tabletop version.

I love how Matt made Grog take psychic damage for having a bright idea because Liam pointed out that Grog's not that smart. A bit of meta gaming but I'll allow it because it was hilarious in the moment. 😂
