Great review, thanks. I wouldn't point a lazer at your camera though, strongest ones can burn the sensor.

Great no-nonsense video! How far would you say the 360 laser is visible in daylight? I need one for framing a difficult roof, do you think it will manage a 4m radius? 😊

Thank you! I’ve actually got a recent video where i assess a number of different lasers, including outside. Please check that out. Thanks for watching!

Interesting video, thanks. The choice of laser levels is really bewildering. I've realised I could really do with one for hanging things on walls but I'm thinking of getting the Bosch Altimo for now, and then when I have a project that needs a 360 degree level I'll get something proper, maybe even the Bosch Pro 18v one as I'm already in that battery system - it's just eye-wateringly expensive!!

Thank you! My most recent video reviews a number of different lasers between £30 and £400. It’s worth a watch, personally I’d buy a mid range 360, there’s a cigman one i reviewed that is working great for me. Thanks for watching!
@feanor5037Ай бұрын
@@TheDiligentDIYer1759 That's quite a coincidence 😁 After stumbling across a video about the cigman and watching a couple of other reviews I'd since decided to buy the 3-line 360 one with Bluetooth, it's on Amazon UK with £40 off... Seems like incredible value for that price and it's super reassuring that you're getting on well with it! I've just found your comparison video and will watch it shortly :). One question - for the models with the more basic wall mount that has no height adjustment, is the horizontal line at the same height as the mount's screw eyelet? I'm hoping so because that would make it perfect for hanging off the first screw hole of a row and then using that to get the others in a line but if it isn't I might find that I miss the height adjustment on the mount that comes with the 4-line model

Really useful, I need one, but have put off buying one because there are so many options. Great that you included the mounts too

Thank you! Yes definitely go for a 360 one if you can afford it! Thanks for watching!

Interesting - I've not seen one of those 360° levels without a third laser at 90° to the other two. It looks like it's been blanked off on the one you used in the video. Also, you're right about going straight to the 360° level. I bought a fairly expensive one like your second option and have been regretting it since - it was a false economy.
@TheDiligentDIYer17596 ай бұрын
Yeah they do a model with a third laser, not sure why they chose to send me the two laser version, but the 360 element is still excellent. Yes i think going straight to a 360 rechargeable laser is best. Thanks for watching!

Good vid. I didn’t know about that pole, I’ll definitely be getting one of those at some point.

Thank you! Yeah they are good when you need one. Thanks for watching!

Intrigued to know if a regular camera tripod would suffice for most of the use cases? Agree that pole stand is better though
@TheDiligentDIYer17596 ай бұрын
Depends on your needs really, the issue i found with a tripod was kicking the legs or it just not being tall enough to get the laser line where i needed it, eg hanging pictures. Thanks for watching!

I found an 8 foot selfie stick with a tripod and 1/4 inch threads and man has it been a dream. Only thing is the feet stick out like 12 inches each direction

That 360 looks great, just can't justify 150 quid for DIY use. I guess I'll stick to the cheapo Amazon one plus some rechargeable batteries. £30 all in will do most jobs just fine.
@TheDiligentDIYer17595 ай бұрын
You can go as low as £60 for a 360 laser, I’m not sure how good they are, but there’s a few on Amazon that look okay. Fully appreciate they are still expensive though, depends on your needs really. Thank you for watching!

I need a laser level for a straight line along the ground.. because sometimes the ground is too wet for a chalk line. How far can the laser be seen for?
@TheDiligentDIYer1759Ай бұрын
I’ve got another video on lasers comparing how far they can be seen outside, check it out

is there any way to measure the height of those devices, i mean one extra beam to calculate distance from ground.
@TheDiligentDIYer17592 ай бұрын
I’m not 100% sure what you mean, but I think you’d have to use a measure or disti. Thanks for watching!

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to wear some level of safety glasses when using lasers to protect your eyesight no?

I doubt they are strong enough to damage your eyesight, I wouldn’t recommend staring into it though! Thanks for watching!

Does the pendulum lock push the pendulum off its reference position on a flat surface. I have a Detroit Pendulum Cross Line Laser I purchased second hand, so not sure if this normal. I wanted the cross line to lock at 90 deg to flat surface of unit so I can project from a surface on an angle.
@TheDiligentDIYer17593 ай бұрын
I believe they lock off at 90, but how accurate that is, I’m not sure. Thanks for watching!

If you watch the video more carefully you’ll notice I say any 360 laser, not necessarily the one I show. I also have a more recent follow up video on lasers where I conclude a different laser is best value.
