I maintain they should just allow you to pick substats when crafting and then just craft till you hit it. It would get rid of a lot of confusion and worry players have.

Bad idea, this means new players never learn how to recognize good pieces outside of what they're primarily looking for, and it may lead them to waste a lot of good gear.

Just make epic craft to allow you to choose the main stats on right side gears and we all good. Right side pieces are the only thing making the gearing in this game such a pain.

Farm Unrecorded History with a Charm drop% pet. Sell all the gear that drops from there to get charm powder. Farm hero Side story every 2 weeks with the same charm pet. There's also a charm drop pet for Rift and Hunt. Keep an eye out for those when they appear.

you don't. outside of having good habits of clearing new player missions, check secret shop and farm story/UH for charm drops, there's no way to get "a lot of charm". that's why the time commitment is so important and maintaining good practice when rolling gear can carry you far. new players' advantage is basically every piece of gear is an upgrade while old players are stuck at a soft cap.

Case to case basis. Extract enough to be able to exchange during weekly reset. Sell if you need charms/gold and extract if you need some for conversion.

No you gotta buy them but sometimes events give you alot and it's best to use them for energy
