I feel like gamedev contents are becoming less and less worth the time, sometimes they are even toxic. This is the kind of video that I like, thank you for your neat and enjoyable content!

Great video Sean! Looking forward to the next one. I wonder if you would consider doing user-submitted pitch deck teardowns as part of this series? I know I would find that tremendously helpful!

Hey Thomas, I appreciate the feedback. I’m looking at additional ways to offer assistance to developers and that could certainly be one way to go. I’ll keep that in mind.

I think you forgot to link the pitch decks in your description.

Great video! For a game where you and your team have worked on it together in free time and hasn't taken much money out of pocket, do you make the budget 0 + marketing or do you account for wanting to get paid to finish the game? Thanks again!
@baconandgames9 ай бұрын
I’ve seen both. It really depends on your preference and the publisher’s. Some developers prefer to keep costs down and others prefer money up front. As a newer dev, having 0 development advances can be a good bargaining chip to get you a better rev share or tip the scales if they feel there would be too much risk with a bigger investment… but it’s really all knobs and sliders you and the publisher play with to find something that suits everyone. Thanks for watching and saying hello! I’m here if you have other questions 🤜🤛

Interesting video, and a good resource, thank you. I would like to go full time solo indie so a publisher could be a good route for support... Eventually... I see you still haven't figured out what to do at the end of your videos!!!

Haha. No I haven’t and I don’t suppose I ever will 🤣. Good luck with you indie dev pursuit!!!

@@baconandgames How to chose the right game idea for indie's
@baconandgames3 ай бұрын
@umen2424 I suggest making something that YOU love. That way you’ll stay excited about the project and will be most likely to stick with it and make something unique. But I’ll think about whether there’s an evergreen way to cover how to audit the market you’re working in. I’ve typed out and deleted so many responses to this because it’s a subject I have strong opinions on. Tough one to tackle. Are you asking because you want to pick a game you “know” will be popular or because you want to understand what the game you’re making is up against? Or something else?

@@baconandgames Thanks for taking the time to answer me. Do you have Discord or something similar? It's a great way to build a community and communicate. Regarding your answer, I believe in building (not just games) where there is demand . And as you know, staying excited lasts a very short time. Perseverance and determination are needed to be able to build something until the end.
