Thanks for the information. I always filmed in 60fps since I thought more was better. Had large files as a result. Now, I will change all of my cameras to 30fps since I do not plan on using slow motion and can still get good results.

If you’re filming everything at 30 but then you put it in a 24 timeline, aren’t you going to get some jitter? Or are you talking about b-roll only and then slow everything by 20% for those clips

I mainly shoot in 30fps and edit in 24fps for b-roll only. Typically doesn’t result in any jitter.

If you create the project in Da Vinci Resolve in 24fps, and then insert footage shot in 60fps, does it get slowed down automatically?

In my experience, no. You’d still have to go to clip attributes or speed and manually adjust it.

I typically shoot in 60 fps because I like the smoother look of the video. External hard drives are dirt cheap, so I'm not really worried about the larger files.

Some folks like the look of 60fps. I find that it takes up too much storage space on my memory cards and hard drives, so I use it sparingly.

I’m 100% comfortable with iPhone and don’t miss Android. I have a hard time using my husband’s Android. I see myself sticking with iPhone for awhile, but I may switch back to Android someday.

Suzi, on my GoPro 12, I have noticed that certain frame rates are NOT available depending on if you shot in 1080p, 2K, o4 4or5K. Why is this? For example: If I choose 2K, only 30fpc is the option. Any way to change these settings? 👍

Just a tip if you didn't know, after that speed-ramp smooth it out with curves so it is not going to 100% speed instant but slowly increase. Show curves-Mark in & out, click S.

I suppose what you mean is if you shoot at 30 it gives you room to move. So if ya wanna slow it down a bit you can. I shoot at 25fps, and shoot slow mo as and when I need it at maybe 120 or whatever camera is capable of. Good info though, handy to know.

I think my "beginner" mistake was filming everything in 60fps. Just ended up with a lot of huge files. Switched to 30fps since I really didn't need 60.

Yeah, that can be a big mistake too. Most folks are totally fine shooting in 24 or 30fps.
