Keith, Thank you for addressing this. It is the reason I am still testing in person. Failed my CCNA the first time, but planning to retake it in a month or two. Undecided on doing the online exam with the view whiteboard. I think it's a dumb rule that we can't use a physical white board when taking the exam online. The exam is difficult enough.

Took my CCNA Yesterday via pearson online. Didn't see a whiteboard tool, but I did use the comment box each question has to jot down my subnet bits, network segments, etc. Worked out well 👍

Thank you Css Bv. In the fine details, they say you can't use your finger, if you have a touchscreen monitor. That being said, I did have a touch screen for my first exam, and it was functional. It's my understanding that you have just over one minute to answer each question. I think I would be too slow using the whiteboard and run out of time for the answers.

Great info, Keith. Thanks for sharing. I have to say, though, it's really frustrating to find out that I can't just use paper and pencil. I love being able to just scribble out my calculations for subnetting. I'm fast with it, which saves me a lot of time. To find out that I can no longer do that is really irritating. Is this only for online exams due to the scamdemic, or is this the norm with in-person exams as well??? It's dumb enough to require masks, but to not give paper and pencil or a physical whiteboard and marker is just plain stupid...

I hate the whiteboard. When i create a multiple text boxes I am not able to move them individually. All the text boxes shift at the same time with the move tool. Nothing beats a pen and paper for calculations. Wish the proctor allowed for a blank paper and pen. They are after all checking the desk prior to starting, and they are watching you the whole time...

I think this will probably be both BETTER AND WORSE than regular paper. For myself, this will BETTER for transferring written style notes from my brain to paper, because of how quickly I can type relative to how slowly I write by hand. I think the whiteboard will be WORSE than paper for any non text based usage, because I am already a bad artist/drawer, and having to draw stuff through the extra layer of a mouse is horrible.
