Once upon a time, clover was actually a part of grass seed mixes. I grew up with lots of lovely clover mixed into the lawn, and still enjoy it at my current home. Much better/healthier than trying to maintain an artificial monoculture. Plus, the bees love it -- they really work it over when in bloom.

Talking about God often attracts atheists, you might think you're doing the world a favor by trying to prove the existence of God but you're doing the exact opposite. God only reveals itself to people through natural law, anytime you try and prove a point it's usually out of ego or fear of someone else's consequences. So God repeals from anything you think you know about it as some form of ''gotcha''. God don't play the heaven and hell so please believe in me game like you christans think it does, that's why some people see things and others don't. It's all about divine law not what's written in a book. And not everyone in this lifetime is ready or even WORTHY to believe in God.

This plant brings me fond memories of my Great Aunt Alice. Growing up in New England with a large family in the 1930s was no easy task. They were great foragers of nature. What mother earth provided at that moment is what they not only ate but enjoyed. Dandelion greens, fiddle head ferns, wild brook trout, blueberries, blackberries, raspberrie, hen and chicken of the woods mushrooms etc. When I was a young boy Aunt Alice and I would go to the fields in our neighborhood, the same fields my great grandfather used, and gather the Dandelion greens in very early Spring. She stressed to me that they were delicious and nutritious and to get them as early before flowering as possible to avoid bitterness. We would still harvest them after but this was the prime time for the best tasting greens. She would lightly steam them and enjoy like spinach. I miss old Alice but every year mother earth brings me back to this fine memory and I am grateful.

This guy is great, but dandelions are not native to North America. They’ve been here for hundreds of years and aren’t considered invasive in high quality habitats because they mostly colonize turf grass and other disturbed sites. I don’t have a big issue with them; I certainly would never use herbicide on them, but there are many early-blooming native plants that provide much more ecological value than dandelions to the fauna with which they co-evolved.

I only pick them for my turtles to munch! 🐢 But other than that: We don't have grass in our garden. It's moss with dandelions and they get mown occasionally for things like tick safety (as those prefer higher growing plant areas) but the very smart dandelions are drowning so flat on the ground, they don't grow higher than the moss. Just the flower stem does. And they get plenty of time to bloom n build seeds n all that in between the mowing cycles.

I don't know if saying that the introduced common dandelion species isn't invasive or harmful is entirely correct, similar to how everyone says how earthworms aren't doing harm (when they literally contribute to a different kind/speed of decomposition(?) so it stands to reason that it's clearly had some level of impact on north American ecosystems) but people I'm pretty sure brought them on purpose as a crop so seeing lawn culture demonize them so bad reminds me of how all "pigeons" (domestic rock doves) are feral domestics. So they're basically like feral cats and street dogs. A population of pets with no homes. An abandoned garden of edible "pest" weeds. Makes me sad. They were once important to us. Cared for and maintained but as soon as they weren't they're a pest that needs to be eradicated. 😢 There are native dandelions in most parts of the world. I'd much prefer people try to increase native species populations rather than trying to kill the introduced ones with chemicals all the time. For the first time ever I'm trying to grow them indoors. Dont trust the contamination the ones by our housr may have. Might try looking fot native species seeds online.
