If you are hitting this 13 times I am not playing Cov 4. Cov 1 or 0, I am pressing #1. This is a very good concept and Coach explains it well.

Still watching but if the slot defender is apexing do you want the slot wr to cross his face?
@PaulGaither2 жыл бұрын
The game film doesn't match the play art. The slots are not steming inside and up the seam on film. It also doesn't make sense how this is supposed to be more effective than a LION combo (two slants to one side, reading inside out vs leverage). I can see LION-DINO & DINO-LION calls, but not double dino. This also is different from what has already been taught as DINO.

You heard him say that they barely hit the Slot receiver. His whole objective is to get inside of his leverage. The outside receivers open 85% of the time if he runs and stem a regular slant, he could run into the linebacker rather the linebacker is playing hook curl just dropping back vertically or buzz his feet.

@@Starwalka - That doesn't addres what I said. There is a conflict between what was taught and what is shown on film. I don't care if the Outside is open 85% of the time, the film - real world application - doesn't match the title or the teaching of the video. if anything, what you wrote is why it is good to ignore the teaching of this video and use Lion-Dino / Dino-Lion combos.

@@PaulGaither it’s simple as a quarterback. I know that everything that is drawn up on paper may not be exactly what goes on as long as he gets to the inside I don’t see how it’s not correlating to you.
@PaulGaitherАй бұрын
@Starwalka - I will explain it in simple terms. The video title and the teaching is, "Do NOT run Double Slant," and then the footage is of them running double slant. It is like watching a video called "Do not eat apples" and they talk about what you should eat instead; then they bring out a test subject who eats apples; I am saying, "Why is he eating apples?"; and you are saying,"Who cares as long as they get their nutrients?" I am the person saying the Emperor is naked and you are admiring his new clothes.

Good video up until the 5-6 minute mark, then he mentions them having a "b****" call, were you folks aware that is in there? Because in today's climate, that is NOT a good look in a publicly available presentation...

This is literally the culture of football

@Starwalka Ehhh that depenfs on what tean you are on, not every coach fosters and allows an environment like that On teams where that is the culture, my point was this is a publicly available presentation and that it's not a good look in today's society. Also, your comment seems to suggest an implicit acceptance of it being the culture on teams where its allowed. Why is that? Just because it's the culture, doesn't make it ok.

@@PhillyEaglesFanatic you’re talking to a former college quarterback I grew up around coaches in Texas that spit dip cuss you out and use foul language that’s what I mean by it’s a part of the culture. Yes, some coaching staff don’t tolerate that but even the coaching staff that have certain values there’s always those type of individuals in this industry for whatever reason they came up with a bitch call. Which is nothing wrong with it and I think it’s the opposite in today society, you can do that. Without it being offensive now, rather than then back in the day.
