Hi Julie, I'm hoping you can let me know a bit about ESL teaching in Dubai and/or what you do? I got my ESL Certificate about a year ago now, and kind of let it fall be the wayside. I live in Vancouver and I'm a 58 year old single guy. I really need a change. I have a bachelors degree too. I have some money saved up. Does it benefit me at all to just come to Dubai and look for work when I get there? I'm a Jack of All Trades. I don't have to teach. I just found your channel so I'll watch some more videos. Are you looking for anybody? I'm a great writer. I use to be a Medical Transcriptionist and I like writing.

Hi, I think a change is always good 😊. So a little about what I do in terms of teaching - I’ve taught adults since 2010. I specialized in aviation English and then decided to focus more on Business English, exam preparation etc. During the pandemic I transitioned fully online with classes, self study courses and this KZbin channel - in a nutshell. While I’m not looking for anyone at the moment, there are lots of opportunities out there if you want to get into teaching. It really depends on what you’re looking for and where you’d like to move. I think flexibility is great, but focusing on a specific location to teach a specific age group / subject area might help you narrow things down more. I’d say to research, connect with people online, ask questions - like you’re doing now. This will start to give you a sense of what direction or place you’re interested in. Regarding moving to Dubai, I would recommend moving here with a job honestly. In the past it was easier to come here and then look for something, but as the city has become busier, I wouldn’t really recommend that anymore. If you’re interested in teaching in a school here you can apply directly and they would provide the visa and everything you need to work here. This being said, you could always plan to visit Dubai and see if you like it. Dubai is very different from Vancouver and from what I’ve seen, people tend to either love it or hate it. I hope this helps!
