I’d live to see you use it more to see if there continues to be bubbles. It’s an interesting product. But you did kinda shake it in the beginning and maybe that’s why there were bubbles?? 🤔 idk. Just a thought

I saw an advertisement for the Makers Magic and I bought it. The first project I did came out fantastic however the next project I did there were bubbles and brush streaking which is very puzzling. I am currently working on 3 projects testing out the Makers Magic. From what I am observing is that if I use 1 thin coat using slow strokes it looks great but it recommends 2-3 coats yet when I do the second coat I see the bubbles and streaking. I tried the torch to pop the bubbles but it did not and it dried the 'look' it had very quickly. I have 1 more project I am waiting for it to be totally cured (48 hours) and then do my next coat to see how that works. So for small items and areas it is easy to use but larger areas seem to bring out the bubbles and streaking. So overall I am seeing short small slow even strokes works great. I am looking for something for larger projects to move away from epoxy sooooo I'll keep looking. :-) Just sharing my experiences. Great video, thanks for sharing :-)

I used it on 2 different kinds of mugs, and after all 3 applications for sealing a product and drying between applications I ended up with bad brush strokes if anyone can suggest a different brush or sponge that might help honestly I am new to crafting and a couple people said it was probably me not the product I would love the feedback thanks

What kind of brush did you use? I used a spong brush with the makers magic and there are brush strokes. Im using it to seal a PVC card

Not trying to be an A or anything but you did shake it up like 3 times in the first three minutes of the video. Probably resulted in some bubbles however I think if you used some heat it will remove the bubbles anyway.

@Oak & Lamb OOOPS watching from the beginning you are shaking that bottle do you think that might have caused the bubbles? and then I wonder if you added the water would that keep bubbles away

I wonder if some of the problem is going too fast not using the right brush and not going with the grain? Mod Podge makes a brush for this. I'm curious to see total side by side testing. Using exact same brush go with the wood grain on the final pass. Also what is the smell of the Makers Magic? I avoid Mod Podge unless I have to because it stinks. Put this through its paces testing the waterproof on printable stickers if it's gloss compare it to MP gloss. Use the MP brushes. What ever MM says it can do test those against MP. Also what happens if you use a heat gun or hair dryer?

I used mod podge as a sealer for a tumbler I did and it ended up peeling off. Did I do something wrong?

Mod Podge is not waterproof. It will get cloudy and peel off with water contact. I Mod Podge first(it helps the paints, markers or inks not bleed) and then seal with a triple thick glaze or Rustoleum Clear Gloss spray.

I did a full review, comparing it to the glossy Mod Podge. I also had bubbles with Maker's Modge.

The company is SUPER sketchy regarding chemical composition, and has been using og Mod Podge for comparison. I don't like their approach or attitude.

Mod Podge has a new (to me anyhow) waterproof formula. when saying its waterproof, or any of the other formulas, after curing for a while, can you actually wash something without it turning back to white like elmer's glue does? I want to make some house decor, but if it gets dirty, i need to be able do dust with a damp cloth.

I do not brush on mod podge. I apply it with my finger...much better application. Once dry I seal the project with either Resin, Triple Thick Glaze, Rustoleum Clear Gloss(spray).

Makers magic doesn't seem like something I would use. I mainly use Mod Podge to adhere glitter to custom cups and tumblers with some brush strokes but only if I have a lot on the brush when applying. Thank you for sharing and showing that there are other alternatives than Mod Podge. Looking forward to your next video🥰 ~RJ

I purchased Makers mark. Mine had an instruction sheet with it that said to use a heat gun to pop the bubbles. I hope to see that tested.

There was shaking at the beginning, maybe that made the bubbles. I looked at the listing for the Makers Magic in Amazon & was able to read the entire bottle. It says Bubble Resistant, so they don’t claim to be Bubble Proof, just resistant. It would be interesting to know from the company if there should be any shaking or mixing of the bottle at all🤷‍♀️? Wish they’d address that on their label. Noticed this product was quite expensive compared to Mod Podge. The Makers Magic was $19.99 for an 8 Oz bottle, while Mod Podge ranged from $4.00 to $7.00 for an 8 Oz bottle. All of these prices came from Amazon. That’s a HUGE difference!! So a crafter would definitely have to decide if the Makers Magic was worth more than twice the cost of Mod Podge. For me, unless it was truly bubble resistant & if I was able to find out from the company that we were never supposed to shake or even stir it, the answer is no. It looked like from your samples that it had even worse bubbles than Mod Podge, when I’ve accidentally shaken it (I think we’ve all done it at least once, right ladies😉??). I was really hopeful about this new product, but for now, I’ll stick with all the various types of Mod Podge that I’ve been using forever!! Thanks for saving me a bunch of money!!!

Consistency wise the two are not comparable based solely on by product fluid ounces. The difference will make the amount of product used for the same product significantly different!! Just throwing that out there
