Don't Ship International on EBAY [During COVID-19] - STOP NOW!

Don't ship international on eBay. It's not safe! eBay will not offer eBay seller protections or update the eBay 30-day Money Back Guarantee policy even though international shipping is delayed by months in many cases. All international shipments to Europe, Australia, and much of Asia have been diverted from Air to Sea mail.
My store shipped over 100 packages in March and April, but only 38 have been delivered. Withe eBay's continued guarantee combined with their lack of available information on the topic, they could inadvertently force many of their sellers out of business. My 100 packages equals thousands of dollars in inventory that I may give refunds on [even though buyers will eventually receive their items].
If you are an eBay seller, suspend all of your international shipments!

That is definitely possible with international shipments if it doesn't show as delivered. Hopefully your buyers are honest and don't claim a refund after receiving it. Honestly, I don't think most buyers even check tracking, they just wait for their item.

I understand that there might be problems and stuff but some sellers use covid as an excuse and never deliver our items

I know how frustrating it is to not get your packages, especially in time, but most sellers are honest, especially the full-time professional ones. Just remember that once the seller hands off a package to USPS, they have no control over what happens. Many customers have said that it is my fault they didn't get their package in time. I only have a few things to say to that. Buyers choose what level of shipping speed they want. 95% of the time, they choose the slowest, most inexpensive shipping possible. Finally and most importantly, after you give a package to USPS, you have zero control of what happens. If the shipper sends their package within 24 hours, that's the best they can do. No one can control when a package gets stuck in a warehouse, and certainly the seller calling USPS for 2 hours to find out what's going on won't get your package to you any faster. It does suck not to get your package in time though. Thank you for the comment!

My question has finally been answered instead of someone just talking too much that's unrelated to the topic or like most KZbinr these days! Thourough and to the point. I have a question though: Even before Covid, I heard and read from some people that it's better to send to Canada instead of internationally to any other country because they stated the same issues you've mentioned on this video. What is your perspective? Since you're more experienced on this? I'm still starting out with Ebay with a lot of successful sales so far within the U.S. and I would like to learn more! I have a video that explains which countries are best to send to, but I think Canada is ok ONLY because they are connected by land. I have no evidence to say that it is safer right now because my data shows that even packages to Canada are being delayed; however, I feel they are the safest best for international shipping right now. There are many countries you should not ship to. You should not ship to any country that does not offer tracking until delivery. Most countries only offer tracking until customs in there country. At that point, your package is transferred to a new shipping agency who will not be able to update the USPS tracking number. eBay will only let you find this out the hard way, but if you ship to a country that does not offer tracking until delivery, ANY BUYER can request a refund because tracking information will never show as delivered. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. eBay gives no support to this. Please let me know if you have any other questions about international shipping.

Do you do the Global Shipping option or without the option for those specific countried? Also before Covid-19 did you use the option when shipping to Canada as well? I watched a video a few hours ago with this lady stating that she didn't bother choosing that option due to just like you said Canada being just right there and she claimed that many Canadian buyers hate when the seller chooses the Global due to the shipping rates. I’m waiting on a package from the UK to US and it made it thru customs fine but it has sit in Pitney Bowes facility since may 19th with no update. Do you think packages are lost or just super behind?

Please suspend your international shipments as soon as possible, if you have not done so already. eBay will not help you through this! yah brother, had a $500 comic book shipped to India in the beginning of February and the guy wanted a refund. I got lucky when I used the ebay help messenger and they were able to end the case my favor This guy in India opened a case which took the money out of my paypal account which scared the crap out of me hehe. How were you able to get them to close the case in your favor? That's super rare. If they received the item and didn't like it within the 30 days, I'm wondering why you won the case.

@@vintagewatchhunter Seller's protection plan, he ordered the item in early Februrary. It was six weeks prior to the pandemic and somehow the package still managed to get backed up. He had a request to insure the item for under $30 because if the item were fully insured he would need to pay half the item's value for importation to his country. Being the item's value is $425 he would've had to pay half of that to customs due to those regulations. Shady, because I put the item's value at $29 for him. Last week he requested a refund for the transaction. Now he's blocked and I ignore his messages. Hopefully he gets his comic book :/

@@MrSk8wiz Wow, I can't believe that. What was eBay's reason for siding with you? Seems like he was still protected, unless it just fell outside of the 30-day window and now he had to request a refund instead, or because he made an illegal request? I would never ship to India or any other country that does not offer tracking until delivery. I've lost so much money because of that, and eBay does not make sellers aware or even give a disclaimer when shipping products. Generally, when buyers say the item was not delivered, and you cannot prove via tracking that it was, you will never win any claim.

Sometimes when there isn't clear communication with a newbie they could make you go on a while goose chase because they don't understand the rules on Ebay. I spent hours on the phone and ebay messenger trying to get assistance from the post office. The item is clearly still on its way just backed up. Plus the buyer waited over 3 months to open a case which was way after that 30 day window. In a nutshell, Ebay can track your messages as far back from when you first opened the account. The buyer in early Februrary made a request which didn't follow the rules on ebay so he's the one that could take a hit. Hopefully he doesn't.

Good information. I have one item bought from woman in Australia. I tried to print out the shipping label but it blocks it saying it’s not recognized. There’s an extra line in the address that prevents me from shipping. Someone suggested it’s because of the Covid 19. After seeing this I’m going to reach out to my buyer and have her cancel the order. I just have to get eBay to not hold this against me for not shipping in less than a week. It’s a week today Do you think they will help me to not get a negative “late shipment”. Even if I’m prevented from purchasing a shipping label? I hope this doesn’t confuse you. Just an old retired English teacher making some extra income!

I'm from india n since April waiting for my parcels from Ali express. All are in the transit n one in india and I opened a case recently bcoz it prolonging but still they asked me to wait for 10 days everytime. I never experienced this from AliExpress. They say these items are with customs but I'm not sure where they are. My concern is some sellers might capitalise the situation

I’m shipping internationally with GSP. I have shipped about 100 packages in the last 2 months with no issues. On the other hand, I’ve made the mistake to ship one via USPS to France. Had to refund the buyer about 2 weeks ago. It’s been 2 months since the package was shipped and it’s still stuck in customs...
