On a side note, I did a 5k m road trip from Toronto to Vancouver and brough some of ON's bud to BC. Wasn't pulled over even once. I'm happy this pills were takes off street but it is time for US to legalize this plant, federally. This is ridiculous.

Your commentary is hilarious, but also educational. When I was teaching, I would have liked to have had your videos to show my high school students, many of whom had relatives in jail. Their thinking was always "that won't happen to me". This is proof positive that it can.

This cop is so good with his investigative approach and his questioning. He so casual and inconspicuous in the manner in which he does everything. I'm impressed at his professionalism. Everything that he's doing decreases the raising of suspicion, which would decrease his safety and increase risk to him. It was also smart to have the occupants step far away from both him and their vehicle and has gain possession of the vehicle keys.

The longer I try, the longer we’re stuck in this heat. The good news for you is that if you are right, nothing I find is admissible in court. If I don’t find anything, I’ll put things back near and tidy.” “I have a lawyer, I know my rights.” And when your lawyer sees this, he’s going to face palm, then make a note to remind you of your right to keep your mouth shut.

By saying no one smoked marijuana at all, he actually made a big mistake. Because that implied that either he was lying to cover up something illegal, like him smoking it, or that they had a large amount of it that could be smelled through the packaging. If he just said that his mom smoked some recently for her medical condition, then probable cause would be much harder to reach.

He followed me out and pulled me over for “ going over the white line at the stop sign” and conveniently a k9 was near by and they had the dog walk around my car and of course it hit on my car. Even though I’d been clean since 2013 . They didn’t find anything but because the cop ran my tags and seen my past charges he thought he was going to find something.

@@lordhegamonster6931you’re 100% correct on that; I remember another video very similar to this one where a guy driving his truck through New Mexico was pulled over while coming home from a work trip. The officer was like this one here, chatty and cordial and friendly. Had truck guy sitting in his front seat asking him questions for like an hour, truck guy gets a little annoyed when cop asks to search his truck, he says no, cop calls a drug dog to the stop & you can see clearly on the video when the K9 officer tapped on the truck the dog “hit” right after. They searched based on that fake hit, obviously didn’t find anything and eventually let the truck guy go, but truck guy is (I think, iirc) suing the police department for that BS incident. Hope he wins big!

I see your concern, however not all cases are the same. Criminal defense attorneys operate using the same rules as prosecutors who put people in jail. The Prosecutors have a burden of proof. Perhaps those failures in those cases are possibly the Prosecutors failure. But regardless we are on the same side in the pursuit of justice, however everyone has their responsibilities. It is definitely the case that the Fed knew this is a suspicious car from the beginning. They always do a stop for something else, and then eventually lead up to the actual reason. They can't do it from the get-go due to some irregularities with state and fed law. So the perpetrator can dismiss the case with a good lawyer later. There's a good video about it.

The breakdown is pretty straightforward: Federal > State > Local. That's what happened here with the marijuana claims: marijuana, while legal/decriminalized in New Mexico, is still very much illegal in the Federal system and Federal agencies operate in all 50 States. Just their luck that the cop who pulled them over was with HSI; had the cop been State Patrol then the marijuana smell (if there was one) wouldn't have been remarked on.
