Now I feel like an idiot because I was doing this type of work today. I wasn’t given any training and then I watch this video and realize how wrong we were doing the work. First of all it’s a pregnant woman’s house we’re working on and they have a child. We didn’t turn off the force air system (which I said we should so it doesn’t blow to the rest of the house). We used a broom and not a vacuum (I asked about a vacuum) one coworker was smashed in the walls I had to tell him I pulled them,Just so we wouldn’t make so much dust. I’ve never dead lead abatement, but I’ve worked on job sites where they did asbestos so I was trying to be cautious. But it was a Tyvek suit, rubber gloves and an N 95 mask. And I took off all my clothes and wash my arms with soap when I left work for the day. But I’m not going back to the job site tomorrow, after watching this video. I just feel like a freaking idiot now.

This is a lot of work, many PIA steps to avoid contamination. I'm surprised they would carry those bags with their bare hands, and put them in their car, without putting them on plastic sheathing. I had a contractor who was supposedly doing this, but they really cut corners, and did a very unsafe and very sloppy half-assed job.

It can go into your toilet if it goes to a sanitary system.

Is lead present in trace amounts even in "lead free" paint? I tested my apartment, which is in an old building, but all the walls in my unit were erected and painted in the 90s.

As long as it's covered by latex paint and nothing is cracking or peeling, I think you should be alright. I'm not an expert, but, that is my understanding of it. When dealing with it, I think you basically want to cover it over without disturbing it and causing dust. Once it is encapsulated, then you are alright.

Not true! That is asbestos and for large friable removal projects. Homeowners are not regulated by OSHA. Also...for EPA RRP regulations (this vid essentially), there are no such rules.

You haven't advised about how anywhere to wash your face and hands! Is a personsupposqed to wash the potential lead off their faces into the kitchen or bathroom sink/basin, where it will go into water courses? And where does one dispose of one's clothes? You can't put them in a normal waste recycling plant as they could make the workers there ill! Very disappointed in this rather superficial video. You could have done more, been more thorough.

After you bag the disposable clothing, you can seal the bag and put it in the trash. That's what construction companies do. They did this in the video.
