If I recall, Klei has stated that they want to bring Shipwrecked to DST. They'd essentially have to balance it from the ground up though. It's entirely possible, but a long way off. Right now they're focusing on bringing shipwrecked and DST to console and the upcoming "Through the Ages" DLC.

me too, I dont do that bad tho, sometimes in winter I die, or almost always at 2nd hound attack (around day 20-30) the thing i dont like about this game is grinding, especially food, I mean u have to make schedule when to get food, weapon etc, then make death-traps for hound etc etc. lol i am not good at this long term scheduling memory and not to mention my i3 intel hd laptop so lagy so the combat system become so hard

Nah I think that's normal. Depending on the player. If he's a really really smart person, wait no not really. If he/she is just really good at memorizing then they would always rotate but I bet the game creators wouldn't rotate too haha. Cuz it's confusing. I've seen only the pro players the only who rotate. Don't worry I've seen pro don't starve players who doesn't rotate too ;)

i havent played much shipwrecked, i thought that watching a few speedruns of the game would give me insight as for some important mechanics of the game i already knew about the hammering crates i already knew about the row boat i already (somehow) knew about the trawl net i did NOT know what the hell that quaken thing was (and honestly i still dont know) somehow this video retold me three of the five things i knew about shipwrecked still cool, and not complaining in any way, just bad luck on my part

I don't really understand exactly what you mean, but to unlock people you just need experience gained from surviving a certain amount of days. Other characters have special requirements. Look those up on the wiki.

Wicker knows the first tier of science by default, so I can craft the necessary items on the first island which rarely has any gold.
