Of all the places I visited in Japan in the summer of 2019, Kamakura was absolutely one of my favorite places to visit. It has beautiful gardens and views of the residential area as you ascend layers of steps. Every time you ascended and descended a new layer of steps, you saw a new view. I would recommend you visit different cities and districts, big and small so you can see how different they are and unique from each other. The big districts also have so much to see but of course have a busy city feeling, while the outskirts of Tokyo have a very traditional Japanese feeling of calmness and beauty. There is so much to see in Japan!

I love your travel vlogs, especially this one. I have just watched it 3 times in a row! Beautiful Buddhist temples and gardens. What a surreal place Kamakura is! I really enjoyed this one!

I'm planning to go to Kamakura tomorrow, and thought I'd see if there were any travel videos on KZbin -- so happy when I saw Currently Hannah pop up in the search results, her videos are always so great!

i don't know, but something about the cinematography of your videos really connects with me and my exxpectation of what japan is like. i'm visiting japan for the first time this october, so i'm really looking forward to it. Thanks to your travel guide i found a few spots i plan on seeing, sadly most of them won't be possible to visit due to time and mobility reasons. Thanks for all the insight hannah !

And shortly after this (literally just ⏱ minutes gone...), you have posted your video... 😉😊😁 Crazy, but true... Thank you Hannah for your breathtaking presentation of the Big Buddha with just the right 🎼 music background.... I visited this too, but I was just a bare 10 year old at that time 😊 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Mmm I love mochi. I actually got into it by trying mochi ice cream in Little Tokyo in LA. I especially love mochi ice cream, sometimes get it at Asian groceries here. When I was in Japan I thought the sweet soy sauce on mochi/dango was a bit weird but it was quite nice. I do miss the snacks in Japan!

Nice, you may want to think about a trip to Nara. I’m trying to get there, then over to Niigata and then up to Sapporo my next trip. Locally, I’d say head over to Asakusa and see Sensō-ji then a short walk over to Skytree

I’m 6 months late to the game, but I’ve been binge watching your videos! I LOVE your content- your perspective and personality are so calming and unique. I have a question, just purely out of curiosity! How do you film people candidly in Japan, and do they ever get offended? For example, on the train, or the boy pouring water on the statue? I think these shots are what make the video, but I would be so nervous about making people uncomfortable. How do you go about it? Much love from Tennessee 💕
@CurrentlyHannah6 жыл бұрын
So glad you like my videos! In general in Japan I film discreetly and without singling anyone out because it could make people uncomfortable as you said. It’s not illegal to film people in public, but they’re within their right to ask me to delete it if they wish. I haven’t had any issues or anyone ask me to delete anything yet though :)

Great video. I’ve been all over Japan, but I’ve actually never been to Kamakura. Definitely putting it on my next Japan itinerary. One nitpicky observation: dango isn’t the same as mochi. Mochi is made by actually pounding sweet rice into a paste, whereas dango is made from rice flour. I’m a mochi obsessive. :)

Miss, Kamakura is not THE country side !! It was also a capital of Japan during 1192-1333 ! There are so much movies & TV series and even manga stories base on that city ! Please google your phone before you make some comment about specific location ! I am still very enjoy about the video you made ! Thank You !

Well in my mind, in comparison to Tokyo, it feeeeeeels like the countryside. Obviously it is a city but it’s away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
