Suicide is such a dementing experience that just leaves a huge stain on your life. Like around 7-8 months ago, I had a suicide attempt, and I still get flashbacks of it every know and then. It's insane how people have to go through this kind of stuff. But not long after I started to be aware of everything around me and just notice, how beautiful and precious life is. Tabeechen when my dad was younger he told me his neighbour randomly turned his music all the way up and started playing the most annoying music he had ever heard, and after he knocked on the door and nobody answered, he called the police. Turned out the guy shot himself in the face with a shotgun. He says the reason that he thinks the music was on was to drown out the sound of the shot. He then told us about why it’s never the answer to take your own life. Anyway, hope this cleared things up

That's the type of shit the guy told me, except he showed me a ring and said shit like "I'm ready to get married and blah blah blah". I should add that I was like a teenager/early 20's when all of this happened, and I was young and naive and truly just wanted to help my friend, but he manipulated and used and hurt me. And after he finished and I was safely brought back home (which is why I didn't fight back was because he was my ride back to my house), the next day, he messages me and tells me "I'm not actually looking for a relationship, and I'm feeling much less depressed, but my cousin is wanting a relationship. Here's his info." Manipulation at it's finest. 18:25 Yeeeeeeeeeeeep. Exactly! That's exactly why what happened to me and countless others happened. We were hurt because we care and truly wanted to help someone, and they used it to manipulate and guilt and hurt us. It happens SO much, and that's why SO many people will say to NOT take the risk of trying to help someone when they're mentally unstanble like this. To do our best in getting their information and calling professionals to help them because most people not professionals are NOT equipped/trained to handle it. We put ourselves at risk, and get manipulated and feel guilty and let our guard down all because we care. It's also after YEARS of therapy, I learned that it wasn't my fault with what happened to me, and I learned over the years after dealing with other friends who wanted to end their lives like he claimed that I can help, but to an extent. I can't put myself at risk and ignore my own safety for someone else. It took YEARS to learn that it's not MY FAULT if someone else ends their own life, even if they reached out to me for help. It's NOT my fault if me keeping myself guarded and not putting myself in dangerous situations like that again means they'll take their own life. That is NOT my fault. I did the best I could. It's tragic, and it's heartbreaking, but we HAVE to keep ourselves out of danger as well when someone is mentally unstable like this. Again, it's a fine line and a balance that a lot of people are not properly equipped or trained to handle. Also, this game is really, really good at showing how serious mental illness is. This guy has been alone for so long and has felt so unloved that he's possessive, creepy, and manipulative. You KNOW he needs actual help, but if you go to actually see him, he'll harm you and/or himself in some way, but if you don't show enough care, he'll kill himself. You're stuck in the middle with him manipulating you. Either you go all in with him in a possessive and creepy way with instant "I'll love him to save him" and always run the risk of him continuing the cycle of manipulation and "I'll kill myself if..." during the relationship and using all of that against you with abuse, or you run the risk of him actually killing himself if you show not enough attention/care/affection because you're trying to keep a safe distance, but still let him know you do care and want to help. Mental illness does that to people, and I really like how the game shows that. He NEEDS help, but you have to walk that fine line and balance everything to truly help him.

Key things to remember in cases where someone confesses: - Remain gentle and calm. Don’t force them to do or say anything - don’t tell them they are wrong to think it, don’t tell them they have to be happy. They have to come to that conclusion themselves or they’ll think you don’t really care - listen more, talk less. If they have nothing to say, speak with them normally so they feel welcomed. - be honest with them, avoid lying as much as possible, unless absolutely necessary - remember you are not trained or equipped to handle this emotionally, contact someone who can and try and encourage them gently to do so. Don’t let them know it was you if you can avoid it, because that can lose trust - be casual when asking where they live or where they’ll be tonight. Don’t make it obvious - be as genuine as you can when talking. Let them know you are there - DO NOT GET MAD AT THEM!!!! Yes it is scary and frustrating but you must have patience. There is no quick fix to this, especially with a stranger There are a lot more tips I could share with my experience in these things, but the biggest are. - remain calm - get professional help, don’t put this on yourself - listen These are the best you can do. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want help. It’s different for everybody. Don’t put yourself past your limits or put yourself at risk. Just stay safe, do what you can, and be calm. This video is a bit over exaggerating when it comes to the love part I think. Most people won’t be that forward with someone they just met if they really think someone doesn’t care. Most likely they’ll brush it off, but it helps to say you care. There is no easy way to do this, and I can’t promise you these tips will work all the time, this is just what I have been told in my many years of therapy. Do your research if you really think you’ll need to know these things. And if you yourself are going through this. Get some help. It’s ok to need help. It’s not weak at all. In fact it takes so much more effort and strength to admit you need help than it is to give a fake smile. If you ever really need to talk and are too afraid to reach out to a hotline, you can message me on my social media’s. We are here for you, whether it feels that way or not. Love you all. I’m probably gonna delete this one day. My best friend would literally do nothing you told her to do and do everything you told her not to do. Whenever i express myself or try to talk about it she literally just says “Mood.” Or like “Omg me too ugh life sucks” and then when i get into an argument with her because she screwed over one of my other friends she brings everything up and tells me that I’m just saying everything for attention, and then when i say she says stuff like that too she just says “Lmao thats because I’m MOCKING you, you stupid bitch 😂”. We have a really toxic relationship. Whenever i talk to her i start to feel really anxious and I always make sure I don’t talk about myself so she doesn’t get mad but whenever we go on call she said things like “I just hate life” or “i just want to feel something” and “i literally have no friends” when she is in a groupchat with over 15 people not including me. I feel like she does it to mock me, since she is the reason everyone at school hates me. Its not like she is dead weight, she is actually really pretty and people really like her. But when I stop being her friend, she basically tells people how awful I am. It makes me really nervous and when I’m texting one of my friends who i can’t see irl i always get really scared that she stops liking me because I’m not as optimistic as i try to be. With another one of my friends, she is sort of like my best friend, but she is more caring and asks me how i feel but she doesn’t really care. She always patches me too, leaves me on read, she never joins calls even when she is free and when i tell her how uncomfortable i am alone with my best friend, but am too scared to leave. Whenever i don’t feel like i can call her for any longer, I have to pretend my phone died so i don’t upset her.. I do get along with her. We always laugh with each other. But whenever I’m with her i feel.. Weird. Like I’m in a constant near-death situation. Like someone is holding me and about to push me off a cliff. Since nobody knows me, I guess i can say this; I’ve cut myself. Nobody knows it, except whoever reads this. I’ve pointed a blade to my chest, but stopped. That was a while ago now, but I’m still not happy. I feel selfish for it though, i feel like i deserve feeling like this... i don’t think it’s my friends fault, though. The past 4 years ive been dealing with arguments with people, I wouldn’t call it bullying since i argue back but some stuffs happened. Like one day when i was walking home, someone i was arguing with kept shouting at me till i was out of their view, and someone changed their contact to my name and messaged themselves saying “Hi --. I want to say that I'm really glad this video popped into my feed, as odd as that may sound. For years, I've been struggling with dark thoughts yet my parent never really believed me and always dismissed it. There's been times where I have cut it so close, even just a couple of days ago. And for the first time, I reached out to the line for help since I was so scared and hopeless and lost. For years, my parent has said that no one will ever care my emotions truly beside my immediate family, leaving me to become insecure and anxious of my emotions when I outwardly express them. When things got dark, I believed no one cared for me, that in the end, I was just another faceless face, namelss name, one out of the eight billion. When Mark said that there was value to life and living, and that there were people out there who truly cares, it made me realizd that yes, this is a huge crisis that is averted by public but so desperately needs to be addressed. I know people who have lost others to suicide - and I very nearly lost one of my younger sisters to it which is beyond traumatic in that nature. There are people who can help you - there is hope. Even if you feel unloved, unheard, undeserving of anything, know that there is at least one person out there who will give their all for you. Don't bottle up your emotions - it's okay to cry, and always communicate with people around you. Don't dismiss trigger words, and never joke about it as this is too heartbreaking to joke about. This type of stuff shouldn't be age-restricted. People need to be educated that this is an actual issue people are going through. Edit: It's good to hear from many people their thought on this subject. I agree with the idea that many younger children struggle with the concept of death can be a scary idea. It is also important to distinguish between controlled risk and inherent risk. Death is a concept which everyone is exposed to sometime in their lifetime. What the dangerous part is, death is a concept which many perceive differently. One thing I want to make clear, I am not vouching for the endangerment and continued trauma of children. I am simply saying, often we avoid these topics because of an innate fear of causing lingering trauma; however, it doesn't have to be this way. Videos like these show the absolute worst state a person could be in and, what it's like to be on the other side. Less to create trauma, but more to create empathy. TL;DR: Damn it Karen, listen to your kid for once because their need for attention is more important than your nails.

My kid could be perfectly happy just watching random Markiplier videos and after this video they now know that people commit suicide and that no matter how much mommy or daddy tell them not to do it they will try to do it anyways. Kids in their later teens might be the best audience but I wouldn’t take the risk of letting little little kids watch something and learn about things like this too early. It’s traumatic.

My best friend attempted once. Around 7 months ago, I remember the panic rising when I saw their “final” message to me. I was on a Walk with my family, I didn’t wanna worry them so I just smiled and kept on with the walk. Throughout it I felt like I was dissociating, I wasn’t crying or panicking like I was before. It was like I was just processing it all. When I finally got home and had to tell our other friends was when I finally broke down. I started sobbing and shaking, I couldn’t type probably and I wasn’t thinking straight. I had to go to school the next day, I had to sit and act like everything was okay. And the worst part was that no one even cared when I told them. They all just pushed it off, saying I couldn’t be sure that they actually did it since I knew them online. so I continued the day acting normal. I just want to let anyone know who might be reading this, is that people care. People love you and they will miss you. More than you could ever know.

Daniel Kyre was a 21 (or 20) year old guy part of the channel named Cyndago. The channel had parted, unfortunately. Daniel committed suicide and he was brain dead and 2 days later he was taken off of life support. He was a very good friend of Mark. He died in 2015.

I can't express enough how much I've come to appreciate the KZbinr Committee and all that they do. One year ago, on September 23rd, my girlfriend tried to commit suicide. I spent several days worried sick about her, because the only information I had was that there were ambulances and first responders at her house that morning. At one point, while at the store with my mom and dad, I got a call from her cell phone. I pick it up, and immediately ask if she was alright, what happened, and her sister answers me. She says that my girlfriend is in the hospital, that she tried to hang herself and she was out for at least twenty minutes without oxygen. That even if she did survive this, she had lost so much oxygen by the time they found her, that she would never be the same person. Slowly, her brain started to shut down, along with her organs, and eventually, they cut off life support. And all throughout this time, I sat in my room and shut myself out from everyone. I watched KZbin, I played games, anything to avoid having to face it. I was expected to go back to school and face the rumors that already started to spread. And in those brief times in between, I looked to you, Mark, I looked to Jack, I looked to Northernlion, all these great KZbinrs for help and support. Your videos kept me from going off the same cliff as my girlfriend, and I just wanted to leave a thank you, because without you, and without your videos, I don't think I would be right here, typing this out on a comment section where I don't even know you'll look. What I'll ask from everyone here, is that the people down here, in the comment section, please like this post. I want Mark to see this, I want him to know that he does make a difference in everything he does. Because I'm sure there are others out here like me, having gone through the same thing, and want to share with him our gratitude. I'd even ask for some who are willing to say, their own experiences, and their own thanks in comments attached. Thank you for taking the time to read this. And thank you, Mark, for keeping me here.

I get your point. I know a certain someone that did that to me, since I told her I love her. Then she's like surprised to hear that and that she loves me too. She intends to kill herself (even showed me the dangling noo*e in her room). I was petrified. I relate to her in some way or another since I'm also a victim of trauma but I never would plan to kill myself. Well, someone taught me, if I just took my life like it was nothing, then that life was deserved by someone better, like for the sick who still wants to live longer. That's why I changed my way of thought. Ever since that ily thing, she never let go of me. Every time I try to leave their house she would repeatedly mumble the words, "I would rather die than let you leave me alone again." That leaves me no choice but to bring her with me. That girl. I care for her. So much. I never had someone who understands my situation. Like ever. (Just sharing my story. She coped up now, still living with me though. We have a 2 year gap in age but that doesn't matter anymore. At least she's happy.)
