Sugar addiction. Coca-cola was always kept on hand in my household growing up. We basically drank it like water. (You could say... we were a family of "coke" addicts.. har har..) Not surprisingly, we all grew up morbidly obese. It wasn't until my mid twenties that I started trying to change my habits. I've become much healthier since then, but the damage has still been done. It's still going to take a lot of time and dedication and thousands of dollars in dental and cosmetic surgery before I finally start looking like an acceptable looking human being. Even right now, I'm struggling internally with my want to go out and get a cherry pepsi. Don't let this happen to you or your kids. Drink water, eat well, use portion control, and make sure you're exercising. Obesity and addiction isn't pretty.

@serjin20084 жыл бұрын
@Eli Gutman While everything might seem very dark for you right now, the most important thing to note is that nothing is impossible, some things are just harder to reach than others; while you might have failed multiple times, failure was never the end of the road, it's just a check point. No one in the world reaches success from their first try, even if you have to try a hundred, if not a thousand times, every single failure you learn something new, which in itself is experience you wouldn't get if you made 6 figures right away, hell who knows, most people who end up reaching it too quickly turn out to be so inexperienced that they waste everything shortly after. The most important thing is to never give up, try to look at the positive side of every situation, trying looking at figures who were in a worse position, yet after a very hard-fought battle, they ended up successful. Never give up. Like the fella above me said, a good starting point would be looking for a suitable job, one which you might not enjoy, but is suitable. You said physical jobs would be pretty hard, try something different, in this day and age anything is possible, you can make 6 figures playing video games on the internet. Look for an online job, create KZbin vlogs, etc.. Just never stop searching and you'll eventually reach there. You sound like a fairly educated guy, which is something that will massively help. Everything gets bright in the future, it's just a slow and tedious transition, and again the most important thing is to never give up and to never stop searching. Good luck on your journey my guy.

In a Tom Clancy book I once read: "The nice things in life, are either immoral, illegal, or make you fat". Thanks for the great video. After a life of experiences the things you list looks sort of deja-vu, as learned, lived, and forgotten. The target that, in the end, didn't fall. But for many, possibly too many, in the midst of those horrible situations, your overarching description of one's mind weaknesses, can effectively help many in the middle of precarious situations. Almost all ancient phylosophers agree on one fact, the same that you conclude the video: the most difficult journey of one's life, is the journey into one's own mind. Gnosce te ipsum...

In the latter half of his life, he had a second career as a counseling psychologist specializing in the treatment of addiction. He told me that one of the things he learned was that it seems as though it's possible to become addicted to almost anything. One of his clients was addicted to reading. If this guy picked up a book and started reading while getting ready to go to work, he would not make it to work that day.

Yes it sucks, so keep carpin all them diems. Don't finish up like Grandpa Simpson: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fp7GaWRvh7KJi6c Seriously, consider the words of Robert Heinlein He makes more sense than most on this topic: "There is no reward at all for doing what other people expect of you, and to do so is not merely difficult, but impossible. It is easier to deal with a footpad than it is with the leech who wants "just a few minutes of your time, please-this won't take long." Time is your total capital, and the minutes of your life are painfully few. If you allow yourself to fall into the vice of agreeing to such requests, they quickly snowball to the point where these parasites will use up 100 percent of your time-and squawk for more! So learn to say No-and to be rude about it when necessary. Otherwise you will not have time to carry out your duty, or to do your own work, and certainly no time for love and happiness. The termites will nibble away your life and leave none of it for you. (This rule does not mean that you must not do a favor for a friend, or even a stranger. But let the choice be yours. Don't do it because it is "expected" of you.)” ― Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough for Love

Probably a good sign to be fearful or death (as weird as that sounds). Either means that you are happy with what you have and want to keep enjoying it as long as possible, or that you are hopeful and engaged about the future and what you can enjoy and do. I'm not scared of dying specifically but the idea of not having a wide experience of live and being satisfied by what I've done scares me. But it's very easily possible to do that while still being alive. So how alive are we if we're just going through the motions and not engaging with what we do, or doing any of the things we want to? Without that we're just wasting time I think. So I think I know what you mean.
@tracesprite60783 жыл бұрын
I hope you can turn your understandable fear of death into a love of life so that you treasure even quite ordinary moments e.g. a trip on a bus, the arrival of Christmas decorations in the shops, someone being kind to a child, a dog trotting past obediently with its human ... they are all quiet treasures.

7M years ago we were kicked out of trees... You are reading this because we tapped into the quantum universe... Your mass is made up of mostly Neutrons which is .01% heaver then a proton (it decays into a proton) replaced every 10 minutes or so... If this difference in mass between neutrons and protons wasn't exactly what it is you wouldn't have mass and reading this text. Either we won't remember we ever lived or somehow we survive death into this quantum world.... Understanding all of this will help you live each day with the knowledge that you really shouldn't be here....none of us... Try to enjoy the time you have left.... You saying that lack of support and opportunity can ruin your life, honestly just made me feel so much less like a piece of crap than I have in years, I know you probably didn't mean for that to have such an impact, but you really made me hate myself a bit less, no one usually acknowledges how a lack of support can leave someone destined to fail, you are the first person I have heard that from, and I didn't even think about it myself until you said it, so thank you.. your short sentence made me feel so much less like garbage, I appreciate you and thank you for being so open minded and considerate with everything you say. Lack of support basically killed my girlfriend because no one was helping her properly when she was needing it (and hospitals further traumatized her). One day she met me (online through Discord), I started having a crush on her, accidentally turned into a relationship without even asking (we had to choose a date for our anniversary because our friendship slowly turned into a relationship and we had to ask ourselves "sooo... Are we dating now?" lol) aaaaand she forced me to support her because she was still extremely suicidal. She had no proper support up until then and even then I wasn't supporting her perfectly and she caused me a lot of struggle with my own happiness, quite honestly, because she just needed the support and quite literally relied on me. And I knew that if I gave up, she was definitely going to end up in a coffin, as I was the last person she could (unreliably) rely on. Honestly, some of my toughest times in my life, because I cared about her but didn't know how to support her. Fast forward two years later, we're still together, I'm able to support her much better. Her family is also better able to support her, especially her mother. So she has more support, she is feeling way better and is fighting her hospital trauma and also actually seeking therapy... And honestly, seeing her smile is just the most beautiful thing ever. I'm also feeling happier than ever before (even if the stupid pandemic is preventing us from living together). She's a lot more stable and she has come a long way since then. Oh, and I love her far more than I ever have before. All this pain of hers could have been avoided if she just got the support she needed from the get-go, though we would likely not have met if she did get the support. I don't know what this reply has to do with the comment, but I wrote it so take it as you will. (Also, it was complete coincidence that she lives relatively close to me because English is not our native language but we met on an English speaking Discord server lol)

You are NOT a piece of crap or garbage. You are a unique human with your own preferences, quirks, quiet achievements, feelings of failure at times, valuable habits, habits that are not so good etc. Your presence is a gift to others in so many small and probably large ways. If some people are rude or dismissive towards you, that just shows their lack of perception and lack of good manners. Be quietly calm with them. Your worth continues regardless of what they think. I wish you well in all that you do. Please love and respect yourself and take the chance to enjoy yourself when you can.

People just make others feel like crap because just like the cartoons, they want to make themselves feel more better about their life choices. It blows my mind on the kind of people that have tried to compared to me because I live with my parents... my own family members too. My cousin, he had his baby taken away and his wife cheats on him all the time and he calls me a peice of crap... best part, he also lives with his mom, and my mom was taking care of his son... and he calls me a peice of crap? Same thing with a friend of the family, she's a trophy girlfriend and a harlot... she only goes to her mom for money, and she's calling me a loser? Pretty much anyone who compares either has no life or they messed up their own. Anyone who compares is automatically a loser.

Paid my mortgage in 6 years. Here's how: 1. STOP BUYING CRAP YOU DON'T NEED! If it does not directly effect your ability to stay alive, It's a luxury. i.e. If it's not food, water or shelter: YOU DO NOT NEED IT! 2. NEVER TRUST A SALES-PERSON Their entire career revolves around lying to you. This goes double for any kind of advertising. Keep in mind: A sales-person is just one person lying to you. Advertising on the other hand, is a carefully crafted lie, manufactured by a whole team of people. Don't trust either of them, do your own research and refer back to rule 1. 3. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SALE! There is only a SPEND! You might be spending less than you normally would, but you are still SPENDING! i.e.: NOT-SAVING. 4. DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY KIND OF DEBT/CREDIT AGREEMENT Keep in mind, making debt of any kind, is the modern equivalent of selling yourself into SLAVERY! The struggle for freedom is real! The way you fight is to make sure you don't give the enemy any weapons or ammunition against you. Remarkably, it's easy to fight, all you have to do is: STAY AWAY FROM DEBT! Rule 5. FOR WOMAN Remember: He's a strong, independent man. He has his own job and should buy his own stuff. Yes, he can get those tools/toys/cars FOR HIMSELF! If he wants you to get it for him, he is NOT a strong, independent man. He is still a boy and you should not even be in the same room as him. Rule 5. FOR MEN Remember: She's a strong, independent woman. She has her own job and should buy her own stuff. Yes, she can get those flowers/jewels/clothes/shoes/phones/cars FOR HERSELF! If she wants you to get it for her, she is NOT a strong, independent woman. She is still a girl and you should not even be in the same room as her. Financial freedom is easy, there is no magic, there is no trick, no clever moves or quick solutions. While others were bragging about their latest smart-phone and flat-screen TV, I was walking around with a outdated feature-phone, and watching TV on a 25 year old set. Every cent I would have spent on that fancy new phone/tv/car went to pay off my mortgage. That bit of planning and discipline, helped me pay it off 14 years EARLY. Yea, I did not hang with the cool-crowd. But then again, that same cool-crowd now think I'm the coolest thing since sliced-bread, because I'm hardly over 40 and seriously considering semi-retirement. TL;DR: You work hard for your money, don't blow it on crap you don't actually and factually need!

well im lonely i dont even have really any meaningful relationships, even among my family, but you know what weird, i dont feel anything most of the day, well not for the most part, i may feel a gaping hole inside me from time to time, but the real problems come about when night falls, in night the endless stimulation of the enternet the unfathimable distraction of day to day life distracts me from my pain, but at night, i hurt more than i ever do during the day, i have way more issues than just lonelyness but you want to know the strangest thing, i might feel pain i might cry at night i might wish i might long for someone to join my life, but at the same time i dont, im content with these emmotions ive felt them for around a little over a decade, i just feel like i dont need realtionships, you ever heard the saying, given enough time the prisoner will learn to love the cell, i feel that way now, i dont enjoy the hurt but im content with it i look at it as just another part of my life, i expect to be sad tonight, i expect to cry my self asleep every once in a while, but stranget of all im scared of any change in my life, im so afread of change that my persionality has barly shifted sence i was in middle school, and if it has nither me nor anyone els has noticed, well not like anyone els would notice, i never show my true emmotions around them anyway, all in all, i have way more problems than lonleyness and im content with the pain, one last thing before i leave imagen acting a sertain way around people to the point were you even expect your self to act that way, in other words just waring a mask for so long it cannot be taken off, then later you put on another and another, in the end your left with someone who doesnt know who he is anymore, mabey thats why im so content with the pain, i fell it is apart of myself

Amazing video! Spot on. I have mental illness where I have severe anxiety and depression. I became an alcoholic during the CoVid19 epidemic. It’s extremely hard to have both conditions, let alone at the same time. But ya have to make yourself do things. Anything. I still struggle with doing some daily tasks. It doesn’t help that I’ve been a procrastinator all my life. But life is worth living. I mean meaning to live. Living life to as full as you are capable of really does relieve stress. I call it a counter addiction. It works! On another note; the black box on his shirt was hilariously distracting. 😆

For most people it has done more harm than covid ever could I bet. For me it was a blessing in disguise because I seriously needed to sort other things out and it gave me the time to do so, but it certainly must have really harmed a great many people (maybe even most people). All I hope is that it may make people appreciate more the connections we have with others and remind us all that nothing is certain or truly predictable, that we must engage in the moment we are in. Good always comes from bad things. As bad as the deaths and the quarantine/lockdowns alike have been for everyone, I just hope that many people will be helped by perspective it will have given them. Only time will tell, in a few years we'll know.

Had offers so to speak, but my empathy always raised a red flag about them. So psychologists, any theories as to why that might be? Because you’re different. A minority. You’re a hyper sensitive individual. As am I, and along with a genius IQ, meeting anyone who seems like they even have a close grasp of reality is hard to find these days. Your ability to feel like you do is a blessing, but it can hurt you too. Be patient with yourself and in the time being, try to refocus that energy into yourself. It’s not everyday that you run into “HSP’s” or real empaths. So Be vigilant! Those red flags keep you out of snares. Many women will use an empathetic man and use it to manipulate them. As will many people sadly. Take care of yourself and be careful about the people you allow in your life. It will protect your heart later along the road. Respect who you are and recognize that you feel strongly and that you should fill your life with things that bring you peace. The KZbin comment section isn’t always a bad place. Much Love Friend.
@tilinapple4 жыл бұрын
Have the same experience, especially after I became more mature spiritually. It is hard to find someone who you connect with on a soul level, someone who truly understands you and not just their fantasy or projection onto you. There are a bunch of people who only want you for sex or looks or just because they do not want to be alone and all those superficial things, and you don't even have to be a high empath to filter them out. Once you do and there is no one left you start having questions, like why am I not vibing with this world in terms of dating? Luckily I met my "soulmate" by chance last year and we grew together a lot. Now we have a much deeper understanding of love, and turns out he was thinking the same thing about dating before he met me. I really hope you find someone for you soon. I don't know how serious the red flags are, but if they are not that severe maybe you should take a chance on one of them, work on it, and see where it goes. But you should always preserve yourself. Looking back, I regret getting too invested in relationships that were not for me, and where I chose to ignore the red flags.

I've been lonely my entire life, and the pain and terrible impacts on your life and well-being are exactly as you describe. As I grew older, I realized it was due to a severe lack of emotional intelligence. This resulted in never forming healthy relationships, friendships, etc.. I married a woman who I knew had issues, but it addressed the loneliness a bit. She was actually similar to me in many ways, but she was very financially irresponsible, nearly bankrupting us several times. While I have at least always tried to be financially responsible myself, the stress of those financial hardships took a tremendous toll on me. I had a near fatal heart attack at 45. We divorced 5 years ago, and while I have improved slightly, I still suffer from the same lack of emotional intelligence, which in turn manifests itself in poor social skills and an inability to make friends. Although I don't believe I have a natural inclination for addiction, it is a never-ending battle to limit the intake of substances that provide temporary from the pain, their short and long term effects again exactly as described here. Amazingly well-done and thoughtful video. You chose your handle perfectly, sir.

I have found a good way of staying on track, for me, is to constantly remind myself to be grateful for all the many blessings bestowed upon me, and remember that love is the most valuable thing anyone can ever possess. Sure, life isn't perfect, but it's infinitely beneficial to to tell yourself, "Hey! Don't screw this up! You've got it pretty good compared to many others." We only get one shot at life, so it's crucial we place a very high value on it. May God bless you all and keep you in the light of His love forever, Amen.
