I have Gabrielle Essence and really like the scent and find the longevity and projection quite decent. I actually have to careful how much I spray when I wear it to work. But I also prefer Hermes Jour D'hermes Absolu - one of my all-time favourites!

The chocolate note in this fragrance is not as warm as I wanted it to be. It does last on me, but I would say it's a colder cocoa powder scent and it wasn't really what I was expecting sadly.

I love alien Fusion! I get 12 hours plus out of it and it has great projection! It’s one of my favorite perfume, love at first sniff and it does not disappoint. With fragrances, lasting power is the hardest thing for all of us. All of our skin types are different. Like I said I get 12 hours plus out of alien fusion, I adore it!

Our skin types have very little to do with the longevity, but has become a common excuse since the IFRA (International Fragrance Regulatory Agency) has ruined fragrance by banning the ingredients that give fragrance its staying power and sillage. They are keeping it hush hush and continuing to pump out overpriced fragrances that are subpar quality. What is the point of a fragrance that doesn’t smell past a few minutes and who wants to have to douse their clothing in order to smell their perfume. Consumers will fall for anything

Alien = Welch's Grape Juice on my skin while Alien edt = carbonated grape soda. For some reason they both come off completely inelegant and about as unsexy as can be. However, Alien Eau Extraordinaire has a hint of that grapey jasmine in the OG but it's freshened by citrus and a touch of tea which really compliments my chemistry. I also find that the Arden Tea fragrances, while boring, also compliment my chemistry. They are safe enough to wear to the gym, yet, I get compliments on them even after I no longer smell them on myself. I don't wear them that often because I tend to wear perfume for myself and I want to be able to smell it. But it's also nice to have some super safe, easy reaches in my collection that are subtle but pleasing to those around me - even the fragrance phobes.

Yes you're right about Black opium looking at the black bottle you imagine having a power house fragrance but you end up with a floral sweet very light perfume, i gave it to my daughter zince i have so many other amazing perfumes

My budget for splurging on perfumes is quite limited, so Elizabeth Arden perfumes are one of those brands that made me feel curious but not enough to get it. I get the feeling that those won't last on me. It doesn't help that my skin eats most perfumes up & I live in a hot & humid country. Now you've confirmed my thoughts 😂 so far, my best finds in my limited budget are Hugo Boss Deep Red & Trussardi Donna, both EDPs.

I am so thankful I saw this video in time because I was just about to order the reformulated Pure XS without knowing it! But I have reached out to Douglas in the meantime to ask about the notes and they responded saying they carry the popcorn version! Notino also states the notes from the old formulation on their website, hopefully this helps someone :)

I know that many people say that the flankers of Elizabeth Arden (EA) Green tea may not last, but the original green tea (not the intense version) actually does have some lasting power. It lasts about 5-6 hours on me. A scent that doesn't last ( but I really like) is acqua di parma blu mediterraneo- arancia di capri as it sadly lasted 2 hours on my skin 😞

I actually just today smelled the Pure XS here in Germany and still smelled the popcorn note!!! So maybe they exchanged it only particularly? I would recommend to buy it via the „Douglas“ Website if you want to get the „right“ one 🥰

I agree with your comments about most of the perfumes. However I finished a bottle of black opium. Did get positive comments on it. I bought it for the coffee note. I can smell it on other people too, so I think it's decent lasting, maybe not long enough for the price, but these days it often goes on offer in the UK. Alein fusion, I love the smell and the solar note, love it. I did feel it performed like an EDT until my daughter said many hours of me wearing it, what's that perfume your wearing its amazing, which she never says . So I think it has it's own category for me. I think its the solar note that does it. Very informative video though.

Agree with everything except for alien eau de Toilette 😊 i think if the eau de parfum is too strong for you and especially for the office the eau de Toilette is perfect. It's just a fresher version that does last on me actually quite well. I'd say 7 hours +. I always get compliments for it. Love from Germany ♥️

I can get away with a bit of patchouli, (eg Flowerbomb, which does last on me) but generally not florals. For warmer - deeper ones like D&G The One, but a little heavy. Si dry down on me is migraine inducing, smells nothing like what is does on everyone else. Had to give my $250 bottle to my mum. This video was great because I’ve felt that way about Black Opium for a while, (& Paco Rabane) next one I’m tossing up La Vie Este Belle, Libre, or Tiffany’s. Any other suggestions for that price point? On my skin, people stop me in the street over Vanilla / Musk. Prada Candy is a great scent for me, but lasts 5 min 😔 ❤ 🇵🇱 🇦🇺

Chanel Gabrielle was so boring! I also bought Essence because I thought I remembered liking it but I hated both - Gabrielle Essence also triggered a horrendous asthma attack for me and I haven’t been able to wear perfume for two months because of it...so Gabrielle Essence has left me bitter!! Black Opium on the other hand...no matter how boring it is I still love it but the longevity is indeed shocking :( I love your videos on fragrances you don’t recommend, please continue making them! It makes sense what you say. I used to buy any perfume I found at tjmaxx and Marshall’s only because they are cheap and I was curious as to what they smelled like I enjoyed my collection but a lot of them went bad. I kind of started doing it again but this time it’s only ones I really want and luckily I ended up finding a lot of the ones I wanted at tjmaxx which includes Burberry and Versace.

I personally only own the Green Tea that I blind bought "because" of a KZbinr and I was so disappointed. Then, I started to like it, I mean it smells nice, and it's fresh, but really nothing special, thank God I only paid 14 euros for the 100ml. I love the original Gabrielle and find that it is an elegant perfume that stands up beautifully in hot, humid weather which not all do. Essence is nice but it isn't as clear and sparkling to me as the original. If I want a white floral with an extra little spice and kick to it, I will go with Ralph Lauren Woman Intense hands down, every time. That is a beautiful underrated fragrance if there ever was one.

Yep black opium was so weak on me, jo malone colognes ive just given up on and alien edt doesn't even smell the same imo, its more floral. I know quite a few people who have bought the edt by mistake and they've been extremely disappointed not realising 😳.

Goshh, I recently bought 10 pound perfume from uae based brand and got several montale and Mason margiela samples to try aswell as couple of full sized m. Micalefs by recommendations from numerous bloggers. I tell you what... I would choose 10 pound perfume every time over MOST of those 100+ pound perfumes. My husband even asked if I have peed myself when I was wearing montale! So that much for the price tag.... I just don't get the fuss and hype over these" niche" perfumes like it's some paradise nectar neither how is their price tag justified as most of them turn out to be tolerable at its best for me. I think it's some weird chain reaction among bloggers to hype them up or they just try to attract sponsorships. So my resolution is to buy less from KZbin recommendations. 😆🤷‍♀️

Pure XS smells like Olympea! I love it. Nothing like the original. I own both and I'm not a fan of the og. Decluttering it soon!

I totally agree. In the end it doesn’t end up being cheap. All those good deals end up being one really bad deal. I don’t understand people who say they can’t afford an expensive fragrance but then they have 50 cheap fragrances. Elizabeth Arden seems like it would be a good fragrance for working out though.

I love ambroxan especially with citruses and ambers to create more of a cloud 😁 ps love iso e super (01) really helps projection with a woodsy base

Must be a skin thing since both Black Opium and Alien Fusion last and project quite well on me. I also don’t find the longevity of White Tea bad at all considering it’s a fresh, citrusy fragrance ☺️
