My son’s house is the first example. I ordered the perspective design and can’t express how happy we are with the results. He listened to our requests and design was completed so quickly! It is finally cooling down here in Texas so we will be working in yard soon. It is well worth having him create the design of your dreams!

I'm in Ohio, zone 6 so cannot relate to the landscaping options in TX but they all look fabulous without looking too complicated. It's amazing how good landscaping can take an older house and really take it up a notch and transform the whole look. I would love to see more examples of mid century homes 'modernized' by updated landscaping that still fits the mid century look. Great work as always Bobby!

Thank you so much for the comment! Mid-Century modern is MY FAVORITE! I love the ranch style with the cool architecture. See you in the comments! :)

You’re right! I got lucky! My house is a 1950’s ranch, and the previous owner, an extremely creative man, decided to work with what was there. He put on a gorgeous overhanging front porch with a ceiling fan and lighting with aggregate cement. It’s surrounded by a wall of beautiful brick work and Craftsman pillars. It’s been in 2 commercials as the “quintessential American home”, and everyone around knows what house I live in, just from the porch. I think it needs low voltage lighting, now. He also made a 3 season room into a family/dining area, and I added a mudroom/laundry inside the garage. It’s very livable. It’s perfect, except for the 2 patios that have no shelter. I pulled down a fence surrounding a hot tub that broke, so I could see the yard, but I can’t find anyone to make a pergola out of the fence posts! No workers around here and I’m sick with Lyme and coinfections, plus, I’m only 4’9”, or I’d do it myself! (Mighty Mouse!)

Exactly on my list for our a/c to put a breathable barrier 😁 and a house border of stones then mulch with stones just big enough to be able to leafblow lol

May I ask how you arranged the mulch with pavers? I’m trying to make a walkway for my dog, and I put in the edges, but I’m not sure if I should use mulch with flagstone.

For security it probably isn’t safe to have in front of the ny house too (my Japanese Maple is my pride and joy it is the size of the image you're showing) 😊 I plant in odd numbers supposedly how to do plantings? I add yearly but it is all looking better every year. I get compliments from neighbors and makes me feel mentally great to see my ‘art’ lol Thank you!

I can’t stop watching your channel! 🩷 The company (really a bunch of graduated high school kids) I hired to weed, trim, and mulch “trimmed” a 40 year-old weeping pine and gave it a bowl haircut! They also cut just the bottom-front of my spruce I brought from up north in MI. Any suggestions? I’m NOT happy!
