The only trip that I can find bass 100% of the time is when I go to bass pro shop in their aquarium.

Gotta say...I laughed my ass off when I read this...me too man. I bank fish rivers mostly and a couple public ponds...only one tiny pond I can find bass in regularly

I look for Bait first, Then start hitting Points or Weed lines and then I would go to Electronics. Great info about changing stuff up every 30mn.

I just checked the BASS Kayak division results. I'm sure those guys are excellent fishermen. But I'd think Kayak fishing essentially proves that fish can be found in any area of a lake. These guys can't travel very far but they catch fish. So essentially motor out, put the trolling motor down and fish. I agree that versatility and persistence is needed. I don't tend to move away from soft baits/plastic worms enough. So I'm sure I miss a lot of opportunity for the chatterbait, spinnerbait, hard jerkbait and crank possibilities.

We had a local tournament last weekend they guy that came in second fished out of a plastic bass buster boat with a trolling motor and no electronics. 2 tournaments before that he got 1st place walking the bank fishing.

Great advice. I'm limited to bank fishing and with limited banks. Don't have a boat.

Same here. I wish there were a channel that focused on western highland reservoirs. The conditions are very different from central and eastern US lakes and rivers. With draw-downs of 100 feet every year, my local lake is a “new” lake every time I go. Driving an hour and then hiking another hour each way is quite an investment in getting skunked every time.

@@ricksonora6656 check out Bass Geek on KZbin. He fishes super deep highland reservoirs.

If I could suggest on your 1 hour videos, that you mix in a little on the water examples.

If its a new lake ill usually go to the biggest creek and look for the biggest point. There is usually a residential population of fish in these areas in my experience.

Great information and yea it can be intimidating at times on a new body of water. Thank you Randy!

I try not to over think it. When I go to a new lake, I launch and immediately start looking for good spots for shallow fishing (what I prefer to do). I just don't get much enjoyment out of staring at electronics looking for underwater cover. I like to use my eyes to find them. Once I like a spot, I start covering water, usually with a crank. Once I find them, then I'll start dialing in the right lure.

I’m so good the bass try to find me quickly every trip 😂😂😂. Great points as always Randy! I’ve been stubborn before and rode stuff into the ground because of it.

Good stuff again Randy. Also, i saw a good tip from whatshisname at fish/moment....he said look at a topo map and fish areas that have the lines bunched up next to ones spaced apart, because that indicates depth transitions (e.g. humps, ditches, ledges etc).
