This whole downfall is down to Maresca. He was constantly playing down our insane start to the season by saying "We're not in the title race", "No one expected us to be here" and best of all when things went bad, "These moments were going to happen anyways." You could literally see the lack of passion and hunger from everyone. We were 2nd ffs and now we're basically 7th fighting for top 4. It doesn't even matter who played, we shouldn't have fallen off this badly. Our biggest issue, in my opinion, is pressing and dilly-dallying whenever we have the ball. The pressing half-arsed at best, and I'm being kind here. We let teams relax way too much and give them time to build their attacks. I'm still patient with the coach, but if we aren't making the CL at the end of the season, he should get the sack.

Is there a limit as to how many players we can recall from loan in one window? Because if not then, in addition to Chalobah, I'd recall all of Santos, Ugochukwu, and Petrovic- the last of which I'd start immediately. I also don't understand why we continue to have zero interest in Vlahovic, he and Garnacho have similar price tags... the former would solve a major problem we have, the latter would solve nothing. I'd also appreciate if Maresca would acknowledge Felix's existence at least prior to the 75' on a consistent basis (and yes I know he wasn't available today, wishing him all the best)

It seems like the trust for Sanchez is only coming from Maresca and these SDs. His chat on his own players baffles me. Same for Felix, who has received a lot of coach praise during this season, but it is kinda obvious he is not trusted. At the end of the day, when the coach continues to spew abosolute horses*t thinking the supporters are dumb - it may hurt him in the end. You either work for Chelsea FC or for those two sporting directors, because their decisions and insistance on keeping the likes of Sanchez and Disassi, pushing out Chalobah and "BELIEVEING" in Jackson without any serious backup plan can be classified as absolutely criminal, and he being their shield does not help his case. Time to be a bit more radical - no UCL football next season - sack both SDs and even Maresca if he doesnt change his loser mentality rhetoric of being 'fine' with being splineless and resigns from being a chairman of Sanchez defence league.

It's a mentality issue. As a manager you can not shy away from challenges and say the team is not expected to compete for top 4 when you have overspent everyone for the past 2 windows. This team was capable of finishing 2nd or 3rd without any difficulties now its going to be hard to be in the top 4.

Not attacking the manager here yet, but Maresca is told what to say. Within one week he told us two contradicting things regarding Chalobah first and regarding what the club told him. He did say in an earleir interview that the club didnt tell him of any expectation... the narrative is obviously chaging now for PR... also the Sanchez comments are instructed. He grouped Jackson and Caicedo just to deviate it We scored a goal first and we slowed down!! WHY??? Were we really confident we could keep a 1 goal lead??? Really? Have we been doing that??? The squad is good enough to make top four, they're just mismanaged from higher ups. They should have pressured the new defender all game long. We let them gain confidence and let them come back to the game. Once again, we need a goalkeepr, center back and a striker without noise or commotion. Just ppl who can do their job. We look exactly like last season... my prediction now dropped to 10th place now at this rate and this is not even the tough run

The leadership optics on the field crushed my spirit the most today. It didn't appear present or important to anyone. Who gives a flying flip who wears the armband. We want the team to be the ARMBAND. The cool training videos, PR showing the joy at the club must also manifest itself in Heart, Grit, and wisdom on the pitch. So frustrating that when he brings Nkunku on he doesn't change the system to use him. Was an odd substitution today as it looked like the only attacking tactic being allowed by mgr was extreme pressing .. hence the high line .. but then it made no sense to take Jackson off as that's his forte even if he doesn't score. Not NKs game. Looked like Neto was in 9 for a minute & Nk was able to play for a mo .. but then degenerated into a mess. Anyone notice Palmer was always passing to the wings today rather than trying to penetrate... must have been tactic .. but very ineffective.
