A pure pleasure to listen to, and am I glad to know this music is still being played, and by such accomplished musicians! Back in the early 1960s I was the drummer in one of those New Orleans style bands spread around the world mentioned in the introduction, a little combo calling itself Eureaka Jazz Band in Helsingborg, Sweden. We mostly played school dances for the high school crowd, and I ran a little jazz club we called Tin Type Hall in a longshoreman's cafe we rented on occasional weekends. Your Canal Street Blues brought it all back to me (I will be 81 this summer), and of course we played Canal Street back then, along with several other Oliver tunes.
